First Reading: As for you, my sheep, thus says the Lord God, I will judge between one sheep and another, between rams and goats.
(Ez 34:17)
Second Reading: For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
(1 Cor 15:25-26)
Gospel: “He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.’”

A Message from our Parish Pastor, Father Phil
|
|
Dear Parishioners:
Amazing . . . even in the midst of a pandemic Advent just kind of sneaks up on us! This coming week is the last week of the Church Year, and next Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent! Of course, Christmas isn’t too far behind. I suspect that the warnings we’ve been seeing and hearing about how to celebrate – and, just as importantly, NOT celebrate – Thanksgiving next Thursday will only grow in frequency and intensity as our focus shifts toward Christmas. Thanksgiving Prayer
God our Father, Graciously accept from your humble people a thankful heart and spirit.
Everything we have and are able to share with others ultimately comes from your love of your creations. Often we think that everything we have is our own creation;
we ask you this day to create in us a spirit of gratitude, that we may always know that all good gifts come from you. We ask this through Christ our brother, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Liturgical Ministries Blessing
At all Masses next weekend Father Phil will bless our liturgical ministers. We invite you to stand when your ministry is called and receive this blessing as you continue to share your ministry, and continue to do “the work of the people” in the year ahead.
What is a Liturgical Ministry or better yet what does the word “Liturgy“ mean? The word “Liturgy” stems from the Greek word leitourgia, which means “the work of the people”. What a beautiful way to understand our Catholic calling to participation in the Mass! We are called as Catholic’s to live out our baptismal promises and do “the work of the people”. Liturgical ministries consist of: Greeters and Ushers , Altar Servers, Sacristans, Lectors, Music Ministers, Eucharistic Ministers, Art & Environment Ministers, Children’s Liturgy of the Word Ministers.
If you are interested in becoming a liturgical minister of any of these ministries please email prayer-worship@sjbplymouth.org or call the parish office.

We are Grateful!
With the pandemic going on, it is sometimes difficult to focus in on the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us. However, there are so many things to be grateful for!
