Protect our children, protect ourselves and help our businesses thrive
Please Get Vaccinated. As you know, we are now experiencing an uptick in COVID-19 cases, primarily driven by individuals who have yet to be vaccinated. To keep Pleasanton open for business, it is imperative that everyone who is medically able to do so, gets vaccinated.

I call on all our member organizations to urge their employees to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Ensuring that everyone who is not yet vaccinated does so quickly is critical to saving lives, restoring our local economy, keeping businesses open at full capacity and getting workers back on the job.

Please consider communicating to your employees the following messaging:
  • Every dose counts. Get vaccinated today so small businesses, like ours, can remain open for business.
  • Do your part. Vaccines save lives and save jobs. Please get vaccinated today. Keep Pleasanton open for business.
  • We’re counting on you. Get vaccinated today and keep Pleasanton’s small businesses like ours open for business.

Working together to increase our vaccination rates will not only save lives but will help our businesses survive!
Celebrating 75 Years
The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2021 and will be commemorating the occasion with a variety of captivating stories, news articles, and reflections from community leaders.

"One of our favorite memories was the mixers we hosted with fellow members. It was a great opportunity for a small business like ours to host one of the more popular networking events the chamber puts on. It was great for us and our co-hosts to showcase our businesses while sharing in the expenses. I think the exposure to the Pleasanton Community and fellow members was significant for us. As a sign company, people remember more about your business and what you do when they can see your shop and all the types of signs we fabricate."

Hi Five Sports Club Tri-Valley Recipient of 214 Gift
A generous donor has partnered with the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce to provide a monthly contribution to a small business. The anonymous donation has been named The 214 Gift, and each month, a different Chamber member will be presented with a check.

The 214 Gift for July was presented to Hi Five Sports Club Tri-Valley, which is a family-owned and operated youth sports camp in Pleasanton.

Owners Roger and Lineah Younan began operating in the Tri-Valley in December of 2019, right before the COVID-19 shelter-in-place. They managed to stay in business while offering virtual movement classes for free as they saw the increased need for activity and fitness among school-aged children.

As regulations began to ease, they felt it was safe to operate in-person and began their first in-person camps. Starting with only a couple of kids registered in their multi-sport class, they have now grown to sold out summer camps and are offering a variety of classes from cricket to basketball and even yoga.
As parents of two young children themselves, Lineah and Roger understand the key elements in growing a love for sports and fitness at a young age are patience, variety of sport, and most importantly, fun!

Their goal is to get kids outside again, playing, learning, and interacting in a safe and non-competitive environment. The next step for Hi-Five Tri-Valley is their upcoming after school club offered through the City of Pleasanton and the City of Dublin. Learn more about Hi Five Sports Club Tri-Valley here.

Reusable Foodware Is Safe, Allowed and Encouraged
As food businesses in Alameda County are reopening and rebuilding their operations, they no longer need to rely on disposable cups, plates, utensils and other food service items to keep customers and staff safe. Consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local health authorities are explicitly allowing reusable foodware when properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized. In addition to reducing costs, reusable foodware also cuts waste, prevents litter, and improves diner experience. For detailed guidance on reusable foodware, as well as related resources including funding assistance and technical support, download StopWaste’s Reusable Foodware Guide developed in consultation with the Alameda County Department of Environmental Health.
