It's Been a Pleasure
My year as the Chair of the Chamber Board is winding down, and I commonly get asked, "Shawn, did you enjoy your year as Chair?"
Earlier in the year my response would have been, "Wow, this is a bigger time commitment than I anticipated!"
In fact, when I was asked what I do for a living, my response was, "Well, my day job is Chair of the Pleasanton Chamber, but I also have a side job as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley."
However, as I now reflect on this past year serving as the Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, I realize it has been one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my professional career. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the many people who helped me tremendously during my time as Chair:

The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce is grateful to Dominick Piegaro of All Natural Stone for hosting a great mixer for us and the Dublin Chamber in October.
Attendees delighted in the stunning and spacious All Natural Stone showroom while savoring delicious food and an elegant selection of desserts. Guests also enjoyed a mobile bar offering coffee, tea, and handcrafted signature cocktails.
We also heard from Kim Curtis of Goodness Village as their non-profit partner at the mixer.

The Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church hosted its inaugural Taste of Greece Festival on October 26th and 27th at the Pleasanton Senior Center. Attendees enjoyed authentic Greek cuisine, including flavorful gyros, spanakopita, and sweet treats like baklava, while experiencing live Greek music and captivating traditional folk dances. The church is excited about plans to break ground on a new church in Pleasanton. | |
Tri-Valley REACH proudly unveiled its first Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), the Hansen Hive, in Pleasanton, with a Heartwarming ribbon-cutting and open house event. This 743-square-foot ADU embodies REACH’s mission of providing affordable, safe, and secure housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), fostering a path towards independence. The Hansen Hive represents a key step in expanding local affordable housing and opportunities for individuals with I/DD. This milestone was achieved through a partnership with the City of Pleasanton and Alameda County. | |
Primrose Bakery has been serving Pleasanton and its environs since October 2004. 20 years later, the bakery is busier than ever! Primrose offers a wide variety of desserts, morning pastries and coffee drinks - not to mention breads, jams, honey, wine, and more. Jessica Eiland bought the bakery in 2014 and has made several upgrades, including creating a “Cake Builder” page for the website, where customers can design a cake online, the addition of delivery services through DoorDash, etc, the addition of espresso and coffee drinks (many of them inspired by the desserts we make), and the recent expansion of the store, which has doubled the size of the front-of-house.
