Pleasanton's recent ranking as the  #1 city in the Bay Area for families by ApartmentList.com came as no surprise to those of us who have lived, worked and raised families here over the years. More importantly, we also know that our safe neighborhoods, great schools, bountiful parks, historic downtown, vibrant jobs center and thriving economy will only remain so through concerted efforts of both the public and private sectors consistently planning and acting in the best interests of the total community.

The single best opportunity to take stock of how our community performed in 2016 and where it's headed in 2017 and beyond is just two weeks away - the Chamber's annual State of the City Luncheon on February 22, featuring Mayor Jerry Thorne.

Also at that time, we will acknowledge the Chamber's Circle of Influence, a group of more than 20 member-companies whose financial commitment and support of the Chamber helps drive Pleasanton 2020: A Community Vision, our local public policy agenda that's sole purpose is to help ensure Pleasanton remains among the very best o f the best for generations to come.
I hope you'll join us on the 22nd.

Thank you to Mark Ballas Dance and Performing Arts for hosting the first networking mixer of 2017.  Guests enjoyed dance demonstrations and certificates for a free private dance lesson, courtesy of Mark Ballas Dance. The premiere dance studio has recently opened their Pleasanton location in the Gateway Square shopping center on Hopyard Road and offers private and group lessons with great new student discounts along with other fitness enhancing activities such as zumba, yoga, and more.
