While a Clinton vs. Trump showdown appeared to have been decided before the polls opened throughout California this morning, there's plenty of reason to vote today, if you have not already done so.  In case you missed this info last week...

The Chamber's Business and Community Political Action Committee (BACPAC) endorsed Angela Ramirez Holmes for the Zone 7 Water Board.  In short, BACPAC found that throughout her first term in office, Ramirez Holmes consistently demonstrated strong leadership where it counts most: pursuit of greater quantity and quality of water for the Tri-Valley, fiscal oversight and accountability.

Also, the BACPAC as well as the Chamber Board, endorsed Measure K here in Pleasanton.  Their reasons for saying YES on K? Fourteen public hearings over four years, involving neighbors, planners and open space advocates, produced a fair compromise that preserves 174 acres of permanent open space, provides two miles of new public trails, over $500,000 for traffic improvements,  and roughly $1 million in additional community  benefits. In return, the property owner builds just 43 homes, similar in size to the surrounding neighborhoods and clustered in a single area.

In the coming weeks as June primary tallies are certified, and city council and school board candidates file for November, watch for information about candidates forums the Chamber and BACPAC will be hosting as the fall campaign season heats up.
