Improving Your Organization Through Planning
|
Running a company is hard. There is always another hurdle coming at you, another obstacle that threatens to create chaos in your business model. Regardless of the industry or the size of your organization, you constantly have to overcome challenges and adapt to new circumstances. How do you move through this experience without having it change the way you do business? By having a plan.
Organizational improvements come from an ongoing planning process a company incorporates to keep itself aligned with its mission. Most business leaders will agree that the best place to start is internally, with internal and external stakeholders who value the organization's role in the community. This input provides critical information to the company's decision-makers, who can then focus on forming the organization's priorities.
As organizational leaders, it is important to fully understand how your organization works. Why do you do what you do? Are you doing it well? What can you do better? And while you can ask yourself these questions, the best source of this information is not you but your customers and your employees. These are your external and internal stakeholders, who value your organization and want to see it thrive.
This is an activity you should consider for your own organization, especially given the impact COVID has had on companies. No one could foresee a pandemic, but from now on we should be able to quickly respond should something similar happen. That comes from planning.

Tri-Valley residents are invited to come and bail out some jailbirds or go to jail themselves and help out a good cause! On Thursday, October 6 some local “jailbirds” will be looking for help in getting bailed out as a way to raise funds for Agape Villages Foster Family Agency. The annual Jail ‘n Bail fundraiser is set for 4:00-8:00 at SideTrack Bar and Grill on the patio at 30 W. Angela Street, Pleasanton. This is a fun, lighthearted event to raise money to support the critical programs that help our local foster kids.
