NEW RESOURCE FOR REGISTRAR TRAINING AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

SEER*Educate is a "learn by doing" website funded by NCI SEER and developed and maintained by the Cancer Surveillance System at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. According to the site, the training platform is tailored to improve the technical skills of cancer registry professionals through testing on the latest coding guidelines. The site contains hundreds of case scenarios with coding forms and built-in look-ups. Answers are given with rationales supporting the coding of each data item.

The site is particularly valuable for those preparing for the CTR examination as it contains 600 multiple choice questions based on the NCRA textbook "Cancer Registry Management Principles and Practices". The training provided in SEER*Educate also qualifies for 20 continuing education credits per cycle.
