Diocesan Gathering on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend
Sunday, September 6
via Facebook and YouTube

On Sunday, September 6 (Labor Day Weekend), we will gather online, as the Diocese of Virginia, for a worship service led by your bishops. This bi-lingual (English and Spanish) Morning Prayer Service is pre-recorded and will be distributed via YouTube, Facebook and Dropbox. The videos will premiere on YouTube at 8 a.m. and Facebook at 8 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 6. The service will be available to view from either platform at any time following the 8 a.m. premiere time. The Dropbox file will be available for those churches that plan to hold service via Zoom.

Specific links to the service on each platform will be distributed by September 3, and will be posted on our website when it is available. A bilingual bulletin will also be available for use and will be posted online. If you would like a link to distribute before the specific video link is prepared, you can share links to our YouTube channel or our Facebook page.
Registration is Open for Bishop's Fall Conference
The Bishop’s Fall Conference for Lay Professionals, Clergy, and Spouses
Tuesday and Wednesday, October 20-21
9:30 a.m. – 12 noon
via Zoom

Join Bishop Susan Goff, Bishop Jennifer Brooke-Davidson, and Bishop Porter Taylor as they offer teachings and reflections on the themes of Communion, Community, Conversation. Together we will explore Christ’s call to us to live faithfully in this and every time of disruption.

We will focus on our missional priorities of racial justice, creation care and evangelism as we strive to become a Church that looks more and more like the communities and world around us. Our time will include teachings and reflections by each bishop, conversations between the bishops and small chat groups that bring you fully into the conversation. Register today!
Get Souls to the Polls
As American citizens, it is our privilege and duty to vote. As Christians, it is our privilege and duty to ensure that all citizens may exercise their right to vote. In the words of our Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry, "It is a Christian obligation to vote, and more than that, it is the Church's responsibility to help get souls to the polls." This fall, examine your faith and choose the candidates whom you feel best represent the values of the Church and the teachings of our Lord. And, if you are comfortable, follow all CDC guidelines, and help others get to the polls so that they, too, may exercise their faith. Link to Bishop Goff’s message. | Link to toolkit.
Triangle of Hope Youth Pilgrimage
The diocesan Triangle of Hope Youth Pilgrimage to Liverpool was necessarily postponed for 2020. In conversation with our colleagues in Liverpool, England, and Kumasi, Ghana, we are moving forward in hopes that the cycle can resume with a journey to Liverpool in 2021. Obviously there are many continuing circumstances, but we would like to bolster our current cohort of pilgrims to fill our roster capacity of 15 youth. The Triangle of Hope Pilgrimages are a three-year course of travel between Liverpool, Kumasi and Virginia. We explore through study, travel, dialogue, service and worship the history, legacy and ongoing impact of historical and modern human trafficking. We are particularly hopeful to increase our diversity representing the Diocese. We invite interested parties to visit the Triangle of Hope webpage for more information and a link to the online application.
