Shrine Mont Camps Creates Virtual Camp Experience
Light in the Valley includes camp in a box by mail plus live sessions with counselors and cabin group

Everything you need for an at-home camp experience will be included in the box. You can do the activities independently at home, at any time. This is an opportunity for past, present and future campers. It's a great way to introduce Shrine Mont Camps to new families. No prior Shrine Mont Camps experience necessary!

Campers will receive a box filled with games, craft projects, chaplain’s times and other favorite camp activities. These activities will be centered around our theme of bringing light into the Valley of the World. Campers will be encouraged to reflect on how to share their own light with their families, friends and communities. Learn a lot more about this on our website .   Check out this sample of Light in the Valley activities!

One exciting option for families to consider is to participate in Light in the Valley Live . In addition to receiving a camp box, campers who sign up for Light in the Valley Live will work through the box in virtual sessions with counselors and be a part of a cabin group. These live sessions offer a taste of the community and relationships that we see at Shrine Mont Camps. Light in the Valley Live will occur on August 3-8. You can opt in to Light in the Valley Live as an add-on during registration.

This is a FREE opportunity, but supplies are limited. Register now to secure your free camp box!
226th Annual Convention Moves Online
Our Annual Diocesan Convention, originally scheduled for November 12-14, 2020 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington is moving online. Anticipating that it will not be safe or wise, due to the novel Coronavirus, to gather over 600 people in a hotel ballroom across three days this fall, we will hold a one-day virtual Convention instead. The date is Saturday, November 14.  Read more.

Don't forget to elect your church’s delegate(s) and alternate(s) to the Convention and submit the completed Certificate of Election and Confirmed Communicants in Good Standing form and Youth Certificate of Election form to Bill Martin . Questions? Contact Bill Martin .
Interested in serving with one of our related organizations?
Related Organizations are those whose charters or statements of purpose have been reviewed and approved by the Executive Board and whose status as a Related Organization shall have been approved by the Convention of the Diocese. Each Related Organization elects its own board and officers, but the nominations are reviewed by the Committee on Related Organizations and then presented to the Annual Convention for its concurrence. The nomination form for the Diocesan Missionary Society, the Trustees of the Funds, Virginia Diocesan Homes and Bloomfield can be accessed from the Annual Convention page .
If you are interested in serving on one of these boards, please contact that organization directly by Friday, July 31 to begin the process. Visit the Annual Convention page for contact information for each Related Organization.
