Jeremy Daniels, Associate Pastor
Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries
With today being Valentines Day, I could focus us on the idea and thoughts about love. But with today also being the day after the "Big Game", I could talk about that too. But as I looked through the Bible to decide between the two, I noticed there was no mention of Bengals in there; I also noticed that most of the time that the Bible mentioned Rams, they were typically getting slaughtered. But since that didn't happen last night, I decided to stick with love.
Love, as we know, is all over the Bible. From the very beginning until the very end, God's love for us, his people, is displayed, discussed, and put into motion. 1 John 4:7-10 (CEB) states the following...
7 Dear friends, let’s love each other, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God and knows God. 8 The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how the love of God is revealed to us: God has sent his only Son into the world so that we can live through him. 10 This is love: it is not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son as the sacrifice that deals with our sins.
It doesn't matter the team that we root for, or against. It doesn't matter where we live, or where we work. It doesn't matter what we look like. We are loved by God and we are to then love others. If we go through life without loving others, we end up going through life without God all together. Let us ponder the thought this Valentines Day, that no matter where we are in life, no matter where our paths have crossed and what obstacles we face each day. Know this church, that God is love. God loved us so much, that he'd send his one and only, to save each and every one of us.
I love you, because God first loved me.
In Christ,
Pastor Jeremy

Who won the SOUPer Bowl?
As you could see on Sunday morning, the winner of our in-house SOUPer Bowl was the Cincinnati Bengals, beating the LA Rams 254-23. Even though the result of the real game was different, with the Rams' close win of 23-20, the real winner here is the Community Cupboard. Thank you for your donation of 277 soup cans!
Online Bible Study for Lent: I Am & We Are

The study will take place on Tuesday evenings, beginning on March 1st, at 7 p.m. Sign up by contacting the church office and provide your email so you may receive the electronic invitation to participate.
