I am so excited for Forrest Burdette to have our first Trunk or Treat! We are going to have a blast, social distance style of course. Please, invite your neighbors and friends. The event will last one hour this Wednesday, October 28, from 6:30-7:30. Kids (and adults, too), please wear your favorite costume - and face masks if you wish! Bring a bucket or bag to collect your treats.
We will set up in the section of the parking lot closest to Virginia Avenue, next to the Community Cupboard. Please, park your vehicle and then walk through our caravan. We want to see your costumes and you, because we miss you!
We will also have a photo booth, so make sure you bring your best smiles.
If you have any questions or want to do a last-minute trunk please contact me. I would love to help!
I hope to see you and your friends this Wednesday.

Wednesday Bible Studies
Two Wednesday Bible studies are now offered for your spiritual growth! Pastor Ed's morning study meets at 10:45, in the sanctuary. The group is studying I Thessalonians, and you are welcome to join in! Please bring your Bible and a mask.
Chris Clark's Wednesday evening Bible study meets at 6:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome as the group studies Philippians and "Finding Joy in Difficult Times". Bring your Bible and a mask.
Starting on November 11, Malinda Shanklin will lead a Wednesday evening class, using the book "Finding Bethlehem in the Midst of Bedlam" by James W. Moore and Joseph Crowe. This class will also meet at 6:30 p.m., in room 111. If you are interested in signing up for this class, please contact Malinda or the church office so that we order enough books (office@forrestburdette.com, 304-562-5903, ).

Backpack Buddies Packing Volunteers!
Through generous donations during the Covid-19 Crisis, we've been able to help stock up on our normal items for packing, but we always welcome any donations during the week and on Sundays before or after our live worship service at 10:30 a.m. This school year may prove to be the most needed year for this ministry, and we can always use your help and support, both financial and prayerful.

Operation Christmas Child
It's easy to learn "How to Build a Shoebox Online". We challenge you to do this today. This gift can be personal as you can select the option to choose boy or girl, age group, items to go in the box, and send a note and photo. Begin by going to samaritanspurse.org and scroll to Build a Box Online.

On Hold: Cardboard Box Donations
Many of you are generous in donating your empty food boxes for Haiti missions, but since there aren't any trips planned at this time, we're going to hold off on collecting these boxes here at the church. Stay tuned for when they are needed in the future!

Live Stream Tech Volunteers Needed
To help continue our Facebook-Live presence for our 10:30 a.m. worship services, we need several volunteers to train and learn the process to help this outreach. We are blessed with the technology to be able to reach others for Christ in this new way. Please consider being a part of this team! Please contact Karen in the office or Pastor Jeremy.

The Christian Community Cupboard continues to serve our community. Please remember them when shopping. Especially needed from Forrest Burdette are canned peas and canned carrots.

Volunteers Needed for Quilting
The construction of baby quilts and Christmas Family quilts (Young At Heart Quilters and the Ruth Byrd Circle) has safely resumed on Tuesday mornings. If you are able to help with tacking and binding the quilts, please contact Karen Lilly at 304-562-9241, or come to the church Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Thank you!
