Wednesday, September 2, marks 75 years since the official end of World War II. On that evening a time of remembrance and reflection will take place in the Forrest Burdette parking lot near the bell. This will truly be a moving experience as so many of us had family members who fought in Europe and the Pacific Theatre.
Reg Hart will offer an overview of the history of World War II and the formal surrender of Japan. In addition to this, the church bell will toll 75 times to remember the years that have since past.
Please plan to join us for this brief service beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2.

School Supplies Needed!
In just 2 weeks school is starting, and while things are looking different in many ways, some things are still the same! We are collecting all the usual school supplies with some timely additions; check the attached list for specifics. If you want to donate, please drop off the supplies at the church, no later than Sunday, September 6, so we can sanitize and hold them for 48 hours before delivering them to the school. Thank you for being faithful in supporting our students and school staff. --Jayné Kirk

Fundraising Opportunity for Heart + Hand!
Donations for a Forrest Burdette, FBUth, and FBKids logos face mask (gaiter style) will go toward the purchase of a free little library at Heart + Hand Thrift Store, just like the one we have at Forrest Burdette! Any funds raised over the amount needed will go toward the purchase of new books to be shared. $10 suggested donation. Masks are available in the office during the week or on Sundays in the Narthex.

Live Stream Tech Volunteers Needed
To help continue our Facebook-Live presence for our 10:30 a.m. worship services, we need several volunteers to train and learn the process to help this outreach. We are blessed with the technology to be able to reach others for Christ in this new way. Please consider being a part of this team! Please contact Karen in the office or Pastor Jeremy.

Your Prayers & Thanksgivings
We welcome your regular prayers and continued giving. This is the perfect time to learn about our online giving option. Click here to access the online giving instructions from the Forrest Burdette website. Your continued giving to the church, as you are able, is important for us to keep paying our expenses. Thank you so much for sending your offerings! If not online, then please mail your regular offering to 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane WV 25526. To save a stamp, you may deposit your offering in our locked mailbox on Putnam Avenue. Open the top door, and slide your envelope all the way to the back of the box, where it will fall into the locked area. Thank you for your support of this ministry.
