Cathy Daley, Director
Children's Outreach Ministries (COM)
Happy November! I cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by. I don't know if it is "COVID time" or what, but I do know it is keeping me on my toes, trying to stay on top of everything. The center and the children are doing great! They are having fun and staying healthy, and those are the 2 biggest goals this year. Hopefully they will learn something and grow closer to Jesus along the way! Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue to navigate through trying times, that our children, families, and staff stay healthy, and that we can make each day as normal as possible for the students. Thank you again for all of the support you give to us.

Wednesday Bible Studies
Two Wednesday Bible studies are now offered for your spiritual growth! Pastor Ed's morning study meets at 10:45, in the sanctuary. The group is studying I Thessalonians, and you are welcome to join in! Please bring your Bible and a mask.
Chris Clark's Wednesday evening Bible study meets at 6:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome as the group studies Philippians and "Finding Joy in Difficult Times". Bring your Bible and a mask.
Starting on November 11, Malinda Shanklin will lead a Wednesday evening class, using the book Finding Bethlehem in the Midst of Bedlam by James W. Moore and Joseph Crowe. This class will also meet at 6:30 p.m., in room 111. If you are interested in signing up for this class, please contact Malinda or the church office so that we order enough books ([email protected], 304-562-5903).

Gen Z Devo Challenge
There are 30 Days in November, and there are 30 Days in our new Devotional! Join FBUth all month long as they team up with their friends Carll and Andy from Sunday Cool in “The Word According to Gen Z: A 30-Day Devo Challenge Using a Made-Up Language for a Real Generation”.
The challenge will be met, and for those who compete it with us, enter into a chance to win their very own Sunday Cool Tee/Gen Z merch!
We will be meeting twice a week (in person on Sundays from 6-7; upstairs in the Uth Rooms and on Zoom on Wednesdays, from 6:30-7:30) plus discussing daily on a separate Remind text messaging group. To sign up for the Devo go to:
https://forms.gle/YAMe5DAcrZcW8H8s5 ($5 charge for devotion),
and sign up for the separate Remind text group by texting @fbgenz to #81010. We’ll even be teaming up with some friends around the West Virginia Annual Conference during our Zoom calls, as they are accepting this challenge to dive deeper into God’s Word too.
Undie Sundays in November
This month, every Sunday is Undie Sunday! Our annual collection of NEW underwear and socks for all ages will run throughout the month. This collection benefits our wider community through our friends at Heart & Hand Outreach. Items will be gathered in the Narthex. Many thanks!
Angel Tree Update
This year's Angel Tree is now up in the Narthex with 75 children from 35 families assigned to us by Heart & Hand! You may pick an Angel off the tree as normal, or you may call the church office (304-562-6103) to request that an Angel be mailed to you. Unwrapped gifts, with your Angel attached, are due by December 15. Contact JoAnn Kennedy (304-561-7100) or Lisa Fawcett (304-539-2860) if you need us to pick up your gifts from your home. If you would rather we shop for you, please mark your donation check "Angel Tree". Donations of new rolls of wrapping paper or gift bags are welcome as well.
Thanksgiving & Christmas Food Baskets
In lieu of the Sunday school Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, we are having a churchwide non-perishable Food Drive, now through December 15. Food bins are located in the Narthex, or we can pick up food items upon request. Thanksgiving food will be distributed to our 35 local families from Heart & Hand on Nov. 22, and Christmas food will be distributed along with the Angel Tree clothing and toys no later than Dec. 20.

First come, first served. 2) The concert will be live-streamed on Facebook, so you may enjoy it from your home! Visit: www.facebook.com/forrestburdettemumc and click on the event at 3:00 p.m.
Operation Christmas Child
It's easy to learn "How to Build a Shoebox Online". We challenge you to do this today. This gift can be personal as you can select the option to choose boy or girl, age group, items to go in the box, and send a note and photo. Begin by going to samaritanspurse.org and scroll to Build a Box Online. If you are building a shoebox the traditional way, please return it to the sanctuary by November 16.

Live Stream Tech Volunteers Needed
To help continue our Facebook-Live presence for our 10:30 a.m. worship services, we need several volunteers to train and learn the process to help this outreach. We are blessed with the technology to be able to reach others for Christ in this new way. Please consider being a part of this team! Please contact Karen in the office or Pastor Jeremy
Please Continue to RSVP for In-Person Worship
