 November 5, 2018

This week we are gearing up for Youth Sunday where our youth and their leaders will be helping lead the services. This church has always been great at allowing its children and youth to be a part of the church now and not wait for them to grow up and become adults. This speaks volumes to the life of the church and its love for God's people both young and old.
We had a surprise visitor with us in the office this Monday morning. Katie Jones from Reach Mission Trips was driving through town on her way to Tennessee and stopped by with some Dunkin' Donuts coffee! When sharing with her about the Youth Sunday service this week, she applauded Forrest Burdette Memorial as a welcoming and nurturing place that helps the youth of our church feel important, loved, and appreciated by being present in worship. I couldn't agree more!

Operation Christmas Child
OCC boxes are due next Sunday. They'll be sent to Charlotte NC and will eventually reach their far away destination into the hands of a child who will hear the Gospel. To make this happen, please consider making a donation for shipping the boxes packed at the packing party so that our work will be completed ($9/box, checks made out to FBMUMC). Remember to pray for all those involved in OCC, for safe delivery, and for the children and communities receiving boxes to be eternally changed by the love of Christ.

Our service time is now!  Thank you to those who signed up to work at the Cupboard.  Also, we need "a few good men" with reliable trucks as volunteers to pick up food at local grocery stores.
