 March 23, 2020

Here we are. Another Monday. It seems that in the changing times all days feel like a typical Monday, don't they? But despite what we are dealing with, the schedule changes, the inconveniences, and the hassle of tracking down those all important items at the grocery store, we find ourselves filled with the hope and joy that is found in our savior Jesus Christ. I hope you are able to stay connected to the church and to the service of Christ by finding unique ways to serve Christ in these different and difficult times.
Whether it's by watching our live sermons on Sundays via Facebook or catching up with our weekly devotions on YouTube, we hope that you are staying connected.
Last night we had an online youth group and even had some of our friends from our Boy Scout Troop 236 hang out with us. Through that time of fellowship and getting to see and catch up with one another, we were challenged by one of the youth to find ways to serve others (even if it's your own brother or sister!) during these days of quarantine. What a challenge that is to the youth, but also a challenge to us all. There are still ways to serve others by serving Christ.
Be blessed, church. Until we see each other again, amen.
Jeremy Daniels, Associate Pastor
Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries
Worship with Us Online!
Our ministry staff joined together on Sunday morning to worship with you via live video on Facebook. We know that many of you participated in the service! If you would like to connect in this way, you will be directed to our Facebook page by clicking here, where you can watch Sunday's video.
Daily Devotions for the Season of Lent
A Lenten daily devotional was compiled by the Laity of The West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church. To download a PDF version of this devotional, or to read each day online, click here. Please meditate on each daily reading, and pray for God's Spirit to direct your life in a special way during this season of Lent.
Giving via the Mail or Online
This is the perfect time to learn about our online giving option. Click here to access the online giving instructions from the Forrest Burdette website . Your continued giving to the church during this time, as you are able, is important for us to keep paying our expenses. If not online, then please mail your regular offering to 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane WV 25526. Thank you, as always, for your support of this ministry.
UMW Egg Factory & Spring Festival
Due to the current situation regarding covid-19, the decision has been made to cancel this year's chocolate Easter egg project and the Spring Festival that was to be held on April 4. This decision has been made in the best interest of everyone involved. The UMW is contacting those who paid for eggs and festival spaces. Please spread the word. Thank you for your understanding during this unique time!
