Holy Week helps us remember the events from the entry into Jerusalem on what we now celebrate as Palm Sunday through the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, the arrest, the betrayal, the trials, and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It was a time of crisis and dedication in the life of Jesus. It is a time of decision in our hearts and lives as well. Are we willing as disciples to "take up our cross" and follow Jesus, relying on God for our lives, or will we attempt to rely on our own wisdom and self-determination? It is a big choice. The disciples fell asleep, denied Jesus, and fled. What will we do?
I invite you to "The Living Last Supper" presented Maundy Thursday, April 18, and Good Friday, April 19, 7:30 p.m. each evening, as the scene at the last meal of Jesus and his disciples is recreated. Invite your friends. Better still, invite them to come with you.
Easter Sunday begins at 7 a.m., with a Sunrise Service at the large picnic shelter at Valley Park, rain or shine. Our 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services will be heartfelt celebrations of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, filled with special music on this holy day.
Take time this week to reflect and celebrate on the new life given you in Jesus Christ. We each should surely rejoice!

Grace & freedom,
Ellis
