 November 25, 2019

Sunday morning, as I was getting ready for church, God reminded me of something, a familiar message without the familiar tune, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." It rang in my heart. The other message within these words is that any heavy burden isn't from God. In this passage, Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus tells us, "Come to me, all you who are struggling hard and carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Put on my yoke, and learn from me. I'm gentle and humble. And you will find rest for yourselves. My yoke is easy to bear, and my burden is light."
If you are feeling a heavy weight on your heart, in your life, this is something the world, or yourself, has placed there. Your family and friends, your church, might be able to help, but only God can ease your burdens. He will give us rest and instruction. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us that we can cast all our cares on Jesus, because he cares for us.
May we remember that Jesus came not only to save us, but also to help us daily, if only we choose to follow his lead.
Remember to mark your calendars! On December 8th at 6:30, join us for a lot of music, laughs, and Jesus. This year our kids find themselves in need of rescue. Find out what happens as we present "Away In a Mango"!

Little Free Library
Forrest Burdette now has a Little Free Library, "the world's largest book-sharing movement", located in the grassy area just before the COM covered drive. This project was a collaboration between our Children's & Youth Ministries. A Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book" free book exchange for all ages. If you have one or two gently used books, for children, youth, young adults, or adults, that you think would be a good addition to our little library, please bring them to the church office.
