E-Connection

May 18, 2020

Hi, everyone! It seems that things are getting a bit back to normal, or at least a new normal that will most likely be the most fluid normal we have ever seen. Knowing that our God is also fluid in His protection is a large, steadying factor in our faith. Knowing we can trust Him to know what we need before we need it, and will be helping us to navigate a path through uncertainty is what we lean on. It reminds me of the children's book Going on a Bear Hunt where no matter what obstacle the family comes to on their hunt for the bear, they find a way to navigate past it. Whether it be through it, around it, over or under it, they persevere and reach their goal. We have God to be our guide through, around, over, and under our path, the path He has planned for us all along, and that is what we can count on whatever the uncertainty may be.
As we go forward and move into June, I would like to ask the church to keep COM in your thoughts and prayers. We are planning to re-open childcare and education options for our families June 1, and in these uncertain times when we do fully rely on God, we can also use all of the good thoughts and prayers, on our behalf, that we can get. Prayers for the health and safety of the children and families we serve, as well as for our staff, are greatly appreciated.

To Worship with the May 17th Service...
Please click here to access our May 17th Sunday worship service. Because of technical difficulties, we weren't able to live-stream the service yesterday, but you may enjoy and be blessed by it at any time!

PipeSounds Cancels Final Concert in Series
The final concert in the 2019-2020 PipeSounds Organ Concert Series, scheduled for May 31, has been cancelled. We are hoping that artist Rob Richards will be able to reschedule his Pops concert in a future series. Look for the 2020-2021 PipeSounds series to begin in September.

The Upper Room Devotionals
The church has received our subscription of May-June 2020 daily devotionals from The Upper Room. If you would like us to mail a copy to you, please give us a call, and specify if you need the large print issue or not. We want these booklets to go to good use! (304-562-5903)

Graduates: College & High School
We would like to know who our college graduates are this spring. Parents, can you help us by calling or emailing the church with your graduate's name, school, and degree? Also, all high school seniors should have received a letter from Pastor Jeremy. Please respond to his letter if you haven't already. Many thanks!

Worship with Us Online!
Thank you to our ministry staff for continuing to provide a Sunday morning worship opportunity via live video on Facebook (each Sunday at 10:30). If you would like to connect in this way, you will be directed to our Facebook page by clicking here, where you can watch Sunday's video.

Visit Our YouTube Channel
Our FBKids and FBUth Ministries have been providing instruction and entertainment for our children and youth throughout this stay-at-home order, and all the videos can be found on our YouTube channel. Past worship services and devotionals are available as well. If you have some free time,   check out our channel by clicking here!

Your Prayers & Thanksgivings
During the weeks of closures and the pandemic, we welcome your regular prayers and continued giving. This is the perfect time to learn about our online giving option. Click here to access the online giving instructions from the Forrest Burdette website . Your continued giving to the church during this time, as you are able, is important for us to keep paying our expenses. Thank you so much for sending your offerings! If not online, then please mail your regular offering to 2848 Putnam Avenue, Hurricane WV 25526. To save a stamp, you may deposit your offering in our locked mailbox on Putnam Avenue. Open the top door, and slide your envelope all the way to the back of the box, where it will fall into the locked area. Thank you, as always, for your support of this ministry.

Do you need a mask?
We know of a handful of members who are making masks. If you need a mask, please contact the church office, and we can put you in contact with our mask-makers. (304-562-5903)

Would you like a set of offering envelopes?
Please contact the church office if you would like us to prepare a set of undated offering envelopes for your household (304-562-5903, or office@forrestburdette.com). We will mail the set to you.
