This Sunday, This Week
September Sermon Series Continues
Unfortunately, there are erroneous beliefs about God and Christianity that have snuck their way into modern church culture. These popular phrases or ways of thinking are in direct conflict with what scripture actually teaches. Join us each September Sunday, as this 5-week sermon series looks at different phrases the Bible doesn’t actually say, comparing them to what the Bible actually does say.
This Week's Topic and Readings:

What the Bible Doesn’t Say:
“God won’t give you more than you can handle.”

Exodus 19:2-8
Romans 5:1-8
2 Corinthians 1:3-11
John 16:12-19

Big Idea of the Message:
Life may give you more than you can handle,
but it won't give you more than God can handle.

Blessing of the Animals
Attention all creatures great and small! Every day we receive a special kind of unconditional love from our pets. Just as we receive blessings for ourselves, don’t our other family members deserve them, too? Sunday, October 7th at
4:00 PM we will observe a beloved Advent Church tradition, the annual BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS.

We will join together (rain or shine) with our faithful companions for a lively service of blessing and thanksgiving. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Because there continues to be a need for cat and dog food assistance at the local LSS food pantries, those attending the service are asked to bring a small bag or can of cat or dog food. Members of the congregation are encouraged to make a similar donation. Please watch for the display in the Narthex. Any questions, call Jennifer Parker at 614-451-5693.

Please join us for this spirited celebration of all God’s beautiful creation!!
Get Involved
The Women's Bible study group will resume on Tuesday September 25, at 10:00 A.M. at the home of Dolores Gross 5104 Pebble Lane. We will begin a four part study on John 3:16 from the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

We will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. All women of the church, members, guests and friends, are welcome.

Free Prayer with PAL Wednesdays
Each Wednesday from about noon - 2:00pm Pastor Aaron goes just down the road from AdventELC to Panera Bread on Tremont Road with an appetite for lunch and for sharing God's presence through prayer.

Anyone is welcome to share a prayer with Pastor through sitting down and praying on the spot or through written prayer requests on his tablet of paper or things directly messaged to him via social media.

If you get a chance, feel free to stop by!
