Daylight Savings Time

Remember to "Fall Back"
FALL BACK!!! (We gain an hour! Woohoo!!) on November 4th. Our Time falls back and we encourage you to bring your loose change to church. Please help the youth support our Compassion International child by bringing in your spare change to church! We are in the process of sending Jackquiline, who has been sponsored since 2010, a final gift as she has graduated from her school. Souaibou has been sponsored since 2014. He is from Burkina Faso and is in the 7th Grade. The youth communicate through letters with these children about 3 times per year. Please remember on November 4th to “fall back” an hour and bring your spare change to help support the youth in their ministry to these two children on Time and Change Sunday!
This Sunday, This Week
This Sunday's Focus
On All Saints Day we celebrate the victory won for all the faithful dead, but we grieve for our beloved dead as well, knowing that God honors our tears. We bring our grief to the table and find there a foretaste of Isaiah's feast to come.
Adult Learning - - 9:45 a.m.
You are invited to come to Adult Sunday School the next two weeks as our LIC student from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Robert Eller, teaches a 2 part class called American Heresy! Want to know more? You need to attend. Don't miss out!

Operation Christmas Child
Shoebox Ministry

Advent is partnering with churches around the world to reach children worldwide with shoeboxes of love. Operation Christmas Child ( ) sends shoeboxes filled with gifts to needy children around the world. These shoeboxes are sent along with Bible study materials to bring the Good News and the Gift of Jesus Christ to these children. Last year we sent 29 shoeboxes that made their way to Malawi, Ukraine, South Sudan, and Colombia. Please bring in your packed shoeboxes by Sunday, November 18 th . Please include a donation of $9.00 for each shoebox to pay for shipping. Please also consider donating $6.00 to pay for Bible study materials for 1 child. If you wish to donate cash or checks (Made out to Advent Lutheran Church), they may go in the offering in an envelope designated for “OCC Shoeboxes”. If you have any questions, please contact Allan MacDonald at or 614-563-4717. Thank you for your gift of love!  For ideas of items to pack in the shoeboxes please visit:

A Special Thank You from Pastor Aaron
From the bottom of my heart I thank everyone who went out of their way to send me an email, card, or a gift of some kind over these past few weeks in October! It is truly a blessing to serve our God in our congregation here at AdventELC and quite the encouragement to carry on our ministry and mission together of Worshiping God, Following Jesus, Serving Others, and Making Disciples.

Thank you again so very much,
Pastor Layne
