Exploring Hasidic Insights on the Weekly Torah Portion

The first class begins on October 12 at Noon

This course takes place (both in-person and via Zoom) on Wednesdays at noon and will focus on the profound spiritual teachings of Hasidic masters such as Rabbi Mordechai Yosef of Izbitza (Mei Ha-Shiloakh), R. Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev (Kedushat Levi) and R. Yehudah Alter of Ger (S’fat Emet), among others. These teachers offer theological perspectives that are often quite radical, along with penetrating wisdom that speaks to our yearning for connection with God and other people. All texts will be available in English and no previous study of Hasidism is required for the class.

For the Jew in the Pew With Rabbi Lynn Liberman

9:15 am-10:00 am

1st, 3rd and the occasional 5th Shabbat of each month!

Our exploration of the Psalms, largely as found in our siddur, will continue for the coming year!  Once again, we will explore the Psalms that are widely used throughout the Shabbat service considering their meaning and wondering why and how these words are still part of our liturgy today.  No prior experience needed, texts are provided in Hebrew and English!
