It was with great joy that my wife Rahel, our daughter Helena, my mother TJ and I joined you for worship on Sunday. I loved the beautiful solemnity of the 8am service, and at 10:30am we found ourselves welcomed with open arms, stellar music and more cake than you could shake a stick at. We are thrilled to be part of this strong community of prayer, and I look forward to joining in the wealth of amazing ministries offered by the people of Grace.
There are, in fact, so many wonderful ministries going on here that I plan to do a little research into just how St. Clare acquired her notable gift for miraculous bilocation. Unless I perfect her technique in the coming week or so, Fr. Robert and I will be switching-off serving at our two campuses through the end of August. During this period, I'll be consulting with leaders from Central, West and our Vestry, and working on a plan for the best way to serve one church in two campuses; what our EFM year 3 grads might refer to as two hypostases and one ousia.
Speaking of EFM, if you haven't considered looking into this transformative Christian formation course, please come join us this Thursday at 6pm in the Central Parish Hall. Our EFM mentors will tell us all about what it entails, and I might even add my own two priestly cents, as I'm a huge EFM fan. Lastly, I hope that you will all join us this Saturday morning at 10am for our Coffee Q&A. It will be an opportunity to get to know me and my family, and the answers to all your burning questions will be revealed.

Education for Ministry (EfM) Information Session
Thursday, August 4, 6-8 p.m. in the Parish Hall
It's time to sign up for Education for Ministry (EfM)!
This is a program of deep study of scripture, Christian church history, and theology for those who are interested in lay ministry. Supported by the Diocese of Texas, the program consists of four years of study using curriculum from The University of the South at Sewanee. All four years of the seminar meet together once a week from September through May for three hours. There is discussion in a close and confidential group that not only learns scripture, history, and theology, but applies the lessons to our daily lives with the hope of making our faith and works into an offering of participatory service to our church and community.
If you are interested in the EfM program, please come to an information session on Thursday evening, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Our Safeguarding class for Children was a great success. Thank you to those who attended and were certified for their ministries. It is
now time to concentrate on
Safeguarding God's PEOPLE. This class is mandatory by the Diocese for ALL members, including Clergy, who serve adults at Grace Church, and must be repeated every 5 years. This includes persons on our Vestry, music leadership, teachers, Parish home visitors &/or EV, Community of Hope, leadership positions, etc. This Safeguarding class is also open to anyone who would like to join us.

TUESDAY HEALING SERVICE, 11 a.m. at West
This weekly lay-led service includes scriptural readings on Jesus' healing ministry, anointing with oil, laying on of hands and prayers. Please join us for this service and bring your friends, anyone who is in need of the Lord's Healing Presence, or just come to support us or anyone who comes in need.
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is effective and powerful.

CHRISTIAN HISTORY CLASS

The Christian History Video Series
meets each Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. at Grace Central Library (Rm. 14). In August the class is continuing a series of video lectures titled From Jesus to Constantine: A History of Early Christianity, Part 2.
