Sister Doris Marie Gonzalez SSJ

Recovery Coach/CM Guide

DynamiCare Health

Honored with Innovator Award

DynamiCare Health is a digital therapeutics and coaching company that helps people overcome addiction to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Centered around motivation and accountability, DynamiCare challenges and empowers individuals to change their lives for the better.

DynamiCare Health was founded in 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts by Eric Gastfriend, Harvard MBA tech executive, and his father, David Gastfriend MD, an international expert in addiction psychiatry. DynamiCare has raised over $6 million in equity funding, $5 million in grants/prizes, and is used by treatment programs, academic research institutions, and health plans across the U.S. DynamiCare's partners include Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Vermont Medicaid, ComPsych, Spring Health, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and University of Vermont, among others.

Sister Doris Marie Gonzalez SSJ has been a Recovery Coach/Contingency Management Guide at DynamiCare Health since November 2020. Throughout her time at DynamiCare, she has provided high quality service to her customers through an approach that was both data-informed and patient-focused. Here is what a few of her patients had to say about her:

"I love Doris Marie. She is very kind and sweet but keeps me on my toes!"

"Doris Marie has been very helpful to me. She is the one thing that has been constant throughout my program. After the rewards and modules were over, I could count on her to help me increase my understanding in my recovery".

At each monthly team meeting, a worker receives The Innovator Award. Doris Marie was thrilled to receive that award in January from her supervisor, Chris Taylor.

Doris also shares that she began discerning last Spring about when to retire. Her employment with DynamiCare Health ended on February 16, 2024. She has already begun to “volunteer” at Holy Infancy School in Bethlehem.

Congratulations, Doris Marie, and blessings on all the future holds.

SSJ Neighborhood Center

Kitchen Renovation

By Bernadette McMenamin SSJ

We are very grateful to The Domenica Foundation for funding the kitchen renovation at the SSJ Neighborhood Center/Christus Evangelical

Lutheran Church.

This space is in dire need of an upgrade so that we can continue to build relationships with our Neighbors by hosting various events and fiestas. Sam Ross was present as the team from Ricco Demolition demolished and removed the stove and cabinets from the kitchen. The space will have a complete makeover in a few weeks, featuring new flooring, appliances, cabinets, and stoves.

Our partnership with The Domenica Foundation enables us to move boldly into the future as we continue to fulfill the dream of fostering community and uniting Neighbor to Neighbor in Camden and beyond. We are so very blessed by the generosity of the Piperno Family.

Sister Kathy Duffy SSJ

Joins AMDG Podcast

S. Kathy Duffy SSJ joins the AMDG podcast with the Jesuits of Canada and the United States this week to explore the life and work of Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin... Why does he continue to be so interesting to so many people today? And why is he controversial? S. Kathy talks about the relationship between faith and science, some key biographical moments in Teilhard’s life that shaped his theology, and where readers new to his work might want to start.

It's a great interview- listen today at https://soundcloud.com/jesuitconference/get-to-know-pierre-teilhard-de-chardin-with-sr-kathy-duffy-ssj-phd?fbclid=IwAR2Rlh217kYX3FQIGG3-sRpyiMuctMN8do0hbrijtVJvoVhSjcHr_GFheGs
