Learn how YOU can get
involved in the life of
Memorial this week! Watch the sneak peak of
Just Three Things:
Our Mission statement at Memorial is: “Memorial United Methodist Church is a grace-filled family of Jesus followers who welcome all people to experience the love and grace of God through Worship, Study, Community, and Mission.”
Community…it is one of the main ways that we believe we experience the love and grace of God.
We believe it is crucial that we build and maintain relationships with others in our church and community. This Sunday, May 30th, you are invited to Memorial Day at Memorial – our church-wide picnic. From 10:30AM – 1:00PM we are all invited to gather together to worship, sing, play, help with missions, talk, eat, and have fun! It is our hope that people of all ages will come and join us for at least part of the day.
We have all missed being together and this is a great way for our whole church family to gather together.
So, bring your chair¸ and join us on Sunday.

See you there!
Pastor Carrie

Can you help with America's Youth this summer? They need you!
America’s Youth, one of Memorial's mission partners, is a home away from home for area children who need a place to go to and feel safe. The program is managed by our own John Gilbert, who attends our 9:30AM worship service.
During the school year. America’s Youth provides an after school program where children receive tutoring and help with homework.
During the summer months, the kids have a day camp, Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 6:00PM Children are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner at camp and participate in both fun and learning activities throughout the day. For this camp to be successful, volunteers are needed.
Can you give a few hours a week over the summer by:

  • Helping when the kids arrive from 7:00AM - 9:00AM each morning, Monday - Friday (any day you can)
  • Watching the kids at the swimming pool, Monday - Thursday from 10:00AM - Noon. (any day you can)
  • Repair or donate bikes/ Ride bikes with the kids any afternoon
  • Help by being a driver for the kids each Friday for the special activities.
  • Plan one craft project, ice cream party, or any fun entertainment for the kids during the summer?

Prayerfully consider how you can serve.

Let’s "green" our laundry!
That doesn’t mean you have to turn your clothes green, (although I do have an affinity for Kermit the Frog).
Start by washing full loads, for the greatest energy efficiency. Next consider your detergent. Check Environmental Working Group’s rating of your laundry detergent here:
Also, consider the packaging of your detergent, as so many of them still come in single-use plastic (remember only 9% of plastics ever made have been recycled – most end up in landfills or the ocean). I weigh the mediocre ‘C’ rating for the chemistry of my Arm & Hammer powder detergent with the fact that it comes in a box, and it doesn’t break the bank. Save additional energy by washing in cold water.
While this isn’t always workable in soggy Florida, you get extra credit if you hang your clothes out to dry.
Finally, when it’s time to replace your machines, please check the energy efficiency ratings and do the best you can to conserve energy.
Blessings and Peace,
Sarah Flint,

Columbarium & Memorial Gardens
Memorial provides a place for inurning the cremated remains of church members & their loved ones.
Inurning loved ones on the grounds of a church where they were baptized, married, or nurtured in faith, is an age-old tradition. Along with niches for inuring, the garden includes a wall for memorial plaques and an area for memorial pavers to be placed.
