NOW AVAILABLE: Refuse, Recycling, and Yard Waste Survey!

The Village of Woodridge is seeking feedback from residents regarding refuse, recycling, and yard waste. We encourage residents covered under the Village contract (single family homes and 4 unit or less multi-family residences) to complete this survey by June 16, 2023. Survey responses are limited to one per household. Your comments and input are extremely valuable for the waste collection program design and selection process.
2023-2024 Woodridge Refuse, Recycling, and Yard Waste Program Brochure

The 2023-2024 Woodridge Refuse, Recycling, and Yard Waste Program brochure is now available. The Village of Woodridge would like to remind residents of a few items of note related to Groot refuse collection services, including:

  • Yard waste collection began on April 1 and will continue through December 15. Refuse and yard waste stickers will incur a ten-cent ($0.10) increase on the anniversary of the sixth year of the current contract, June 1, 2023. The new cost of a sticker will be $4.00. Any Groot stickers that have been already purchased will be honored.
  • Clean-up week is scheduled for the fall, during the first full week of October on your regularly scheduled pick-up day. In 2023, the clean up week will start on October 2.

The Village has worked closely with the waste collection industry during the past decade to develop and maintain a program that meets the needs of residents and is environmentally responsible. For more information on garbage and recycling, click here.

Calling all Woodridge Volunteers, We Need Your Help!

Calling all Woodridge V💚lunteers, we need your help! The Woodridge Special Events Committee is looking for volunteers to help at the Village’s 2023 4th of July Picnic at Castaldo Park. Community involvement is important to the success of this special Woodridge event.

Woodridge has had a long standing tradition of celebrating the 4th of July at Castaldo Park. The Woodridge Special Events Committee’s 4th of July Picnic began on July 4, 1968 as part of the State of Illinois’ Sesquicentennial (150th) Anniversary. The Village’s 4th of July Picnic was last held in 2019. We are excited that this event is coming back to our community this year!

Your help as a volunteer makes events like this possible and fun! This busy event is fun for the whole family. We cannot make events like this happen without the generous support from neighbors and friends in our community. If you are interested in helping, please contact Marilyn Ristic at (630)963-1975 or hmristic@comcast.net no later than June 4th.

Thank you so much on behalf of our Woodridge Special Events Committee!
Illinois Unclaimed Property Program

Did you know that the Illinois’ unclaimed property program—also known as I-Cash—is one of the state’s oldest consumer protection initiatives?

The State Treasurer is tasked with safeguarding unclaimed property, such as the contents of overlooked safe deposit boxes, unpaid life insurance benefits, forgotten bank accounts and unused rebate cards. Currently, Illinois holds more than $3.5 billion in unclaimed property.

Woodridge Library Renovations

Over the next 4 – 10 weeks the Woodridge Library will be painting and renovating its building’s exterior. Contractors will be keeping the driving lanes open and passable and will be clearing up debris as they work.
