We are delighted to welcome you to another edition of the Strangulation Prevention E-News. In this issue, we are thrilled to share all our resources that are translated in SPANISH, to help share important information about non-fatal strangulation assaults.

We understand that language barriers can make it challenging to communicate the danger of non-fatal strangulation and suffocation. To overcome this, we have translated a variety of information and resources aimed to help educate the severity of strangulation. This initiative aims to support multidisciplinary teams in raising awareness and providing essential resources to survivors.

Our most recent Spanish translation of "Do you need a Paramedic" The Role of Emergency Medical Services in Non-Fatal Strangulation Cases, is out now!

EMS responders play a critical role. When responding to domestic violence calls, they can ask important questions to identify injuries that may be hidden by clothing or are internal and not visible. They can look for clues of strangulation when the victim can't remember details or is too traumatized or afraid to speak. Importantly, they can recognize and document physical findings relevant to the identification of non-fatal strangulation.

Los socorristas de EMS desempeñan un papel fundamental. Al responder a llamadas de violencia doméstica, pueden hacer preguntas importantes para identificar lesiones que pueden estar ocultas tras la ropa o que son internas y no visibles. Pueden buscar pistas de estrangulamiento cuando la víctima no puede recordar detalles o está demasiado traumatizada o tiene miedo de hablar. Es importante destacar que pueden reconocer y documentar hallazgos físicos relevantes para la identificación de estrangulamiento no fatal.
