A Change in Garbage Collection Service is Coming
May 19, 2023

Waste Management's contract with Kildeer expires June 30. The Village solicited bids from waste hauling companies and three proposals were received. In conjunction with the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, the proposals were evaluated and Lakeshore Recycling Service (LRS) was identified as the best provider.
Starting June 30 your monthly fee for solid and yard waste collection and recycling will decrease from $25.13 to $19.95 and yardwaste stickers will go down from $3.75 to $3.50. The 10% senior discount for residents 65 years or older will be offered but in order to get the discount you will need to come to Village Hall with your drivers license to register with LRS. A new benefit is that LRS will pick-up one bulk item per week from each house. The collection day under the new contract is Friday instead of Wednesday.
A seamless transition from Waste Management to LRS is being planned. The last collection by Waste Management will be June 28. Leave your green Waste Management carts for trash and recycling at the curb and they will be picked up.
