Crime-Free Housing Seminars
The Woodridge Crime-Free Housing Seminar was designed to assist owners and managers of rental properties within the community in keeping their property safe, with crime prevention concepts in mind. This class can also be used by homeowner’s associations to effectively deal with rental units within the association. Click here to learn more. A Crime-Free Housing Seminar will take place in the Community Room of the new Police Department, located at 7215 Janes Avenue, on March 14th and April 11th at 5:30 pm.

Last Week to Recycle Holiday Lights
Woodridge residents may recycle non-working holiday lights at Woodridge Village Hall, 5 Plaza Drive or Public Works building, 1 Plaza Drive. The Village is partnering with Elgin Recycling to offer this free service to residents until Friday, March 1, 2024. Please - no CFLs.

Woodridge School District 68 is inviting every community member to participate in Read Across America Day! Volunteer to read a book to students. Woodridge Rotary Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Woodridge believes in developing the next generation of leaders through leadership skills, expanding their education, and learning the value of service. The Woodridge Rotary Club supports this mission through its scholarship program. The Woodridge Rotary is now accepting applications for its annual Service Above Self Scholarship and Music Scholarship. Two Service Above Self Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community service. The Music Scholarship supports a student who is passionate about music and wants to pursue it while attending college.

Free Tax Preparation in Woodridge | |
Free tax preparation is being offered in Woodridge by the AARP Foundation's Tax-Aide service. Appointments with IRS-certified Tax-Aide volunteers are available on Mondays & and Fridays through April 1 at the Fred C. Hohnke Community Center (2600 The Center Dr.). Health Department to Offer Free Dental Screenings on ‘Give Kids A Smile Day’ | |
The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) has announced its participation in 'Give Kids A Smile Day' alongside the American Dental Association (ADA). The event will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the DuPage County Health Department. On 'Give Kids A Smile Day', DCHD dentists will provide free dental screenings, by appointment only, for children. Additionally, participating children will receive valuable oral health education and a complimentary oral healthcare kit. Parents or guardians are encouraged to call 630-221-7776 to schedule an appointment for this event.

DuPage County SCARCE to Host 18th Annual Sustainable Design Challenge | |
DuPage County and SCARCE are now accepting registrations from local high school students for the 18th annual Sustainable Design Challenge. The Sustainable Design Challenge, scheduled for April 16, encourages students to construct building and landscape models using environmental and water-friendly design practices. Free Rides for ADA Paratransit Riders on Pace Fixed Route Bus | |
Pace passengers who are certified for ADA Paratransit service by the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) can now ride for free on any Pace fixed route. This fare change expands travel options and makes public transportation more convenient and affordable for many people with disabilities. Pace’s fixed route buses are fully accessible with ramps, dedicated seating areas, audio and visual stop announcements, and other accessibility features. To ensure rides are free, ADA passengers should not tap their ADA Paratransit card on the Ventra reader. They should simply show their card to the driver when they board. Telling a People's Story
Experience a celebration of Black history, excellence, and joy through stories authored and illustrated by Black writers and illustrators. The Woodridge Public Library will be hosting the traveling panel exhibition Telling a People’s Story in its lobby all month during library hours. Telling a People’s Story is the first major museum exhibition devoted to the art found within the pages of African-American children’s picture books.

VFW Family Pasta Dinner
Woodridge VFW invites you to a family pasta dinner on Sunday, April 14th. This event will be held at Shanahan’s, located on the corner of 75th Street and Woodward Avenue. (1999 75th Street) All proceeds go to the Woodridge VFW Post 1578 Scholarship Fund! Seating is available from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. The meal will be Buffet Style – all you can eat – and includes spaghetti, pasta, salad, bread sticks and dessert. A cash bar is available. Tickets will be available at the door, or call the Post at 630-910-1578 and leave a message. Tickets are $15.00 per person or $25.00 per family (children under 12 are free).
