Matt's electrical career began in 1996 with apprenticeship at Rio Tinto’s Mine Sites in the Pilbara.
He spent a further 12 months with Rio Tinto after his apprenticeship as a shift breakdown electrician.
After moving to the South West in 2001 Matt worked for short periods in multiple roles including:
  • Commissioning a new processing plant at the Harvey Beef Abattoir and,
  • Servicing Coffee machines at businesses across the south west region
Matt spent the last 15 years at Alcoa starting in a rotating shift role titled Fixed Plant electrical maintenance/breakdown technician before moving onto Electrical Supervisor in 2014.Matt finished at Alcoa in September 2018 and for the last few months of 2018 Matt worked at South 32 within the Powerhouse Maintenance team as an EI technician.
Matt joined the ATC team in January 2019 bringing his experience as an electrician as well as his youth mentoring abilities through 15 years coaching community football (both male and female) at all age levels.
