School Picture Re-orders
This school year is definitely one we will want to remember forever. To have a picture of how God has kept us all, and shepherded us through hills and valleys is such a precious gift. Therefore, MCS wants to make sure that all students, and their families receive the pictures that they ordered. The school will submit a request for LifeTouch to fulfil all orders for any family that did not receive previously ordered school pictures. Even if you have previously contacted the school, or Lifetouch, but still do not have your school pictures, please fill out the form here by Wednesday March 3rd. Thank you for your patience as we work to fulfil these orders.

Chapel Recap
We were so blessed to have Pastor Scott Williams of Narrative Church join us as our middle school Chapel speaker this week! Scott broke down our theme verse of Psalm 23, highlighting vs. 4: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil; FOR YOU ARE WITH ME.” It’s there that Scott shared about walking through one of his own darkest valleys, the day that he came home to his house being engulfed in flames. He spoke about how that was a long and challenging season, but he felt God by his side, taking care of him and his family along the way. He reminded them that the story does not end in the darkest valley! But that God promises to be with us, comforting us, and taking care of our needs. And that the Psalm ends in vs. 6 with, “Surely your goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.” Scott encouraged the students to consider what challenges they are facing now, and reminded them that their story doesn't end there. Instead, our almighty God promises to be with us, and allow us to experience the joys of His goodness and mercy our whole lives long.

Vaccines, Vaccines, Vaccines:
COVID-19 Vaccine(s)

Everyone is talking about COVID-19 vaccines. What is an mRNA vaccine? How are these new vaccines different from what we have traditionally used for vaccination?

This video offers a nice simple explanation.

I have received multiple questions on whether we will be requiring MCS students to get the vaccine. The vaccines available are currently not approved for children under 16. The COVID-19 vaccines are currently given on a tiered basis and are recommended but not required for adults.
Vaccination Exemptions

The law regarding vaccination exemptions in California have changed as of January 1, 2021. All exemptions must now be completed through the CAIR-ME website. Any current medical exemptions must be reissued at admission to new school or next grade checkpoint. TK/K or 7th grade are check points for MCS. CAIR-ME is a secure website where parents can request, Physicians issue, and schools can monitor medical exemptions. We must comply with the law of the state of California. Students will not be able to start school without being up to date on immunizations or without having an active exemption issue through CAIR-ME. Any current students with temporary medication exemptions that expire after January 1, 2021, must provide an updated copy of vaccination record showing proof of vaccination or must be issued a new exemption through this site. Shotsforschool.org has updated vaccination requirements and further details on exemptions and CAIR-ME.

Below is a graphic From CDPH explaining the CAIR-ME process.
