We STILL Need You!
As we continue our weekly Online Worship Experience, we truly need your help . We are requesting additional, very brief videos for various parts of our Worship. Having you participate ensures that we have a warm, member inclusive worship we can all share.

Here are some ways you can lend a hand:
  • Passing of the Peace: simply film yourself saying "peace be with you"
  • Acolytes: we'd love to see our kids but all ages are great!
  • Windchimes: Do you have a set of windchimes? You can just take a video of the chimes being rung and then step out of the picture. You can continue to film and just let the chimes continue for as long as possible before turning off the camera.
  • Liturgists: We have added some additional slots for the coming summer weeks. Please see below in CUMC Outreach or follow this link to sign up!
Please note that our recordings are due on Tuesdays before the coming weekend.
To submit a video or if you have any questions, please contact:

It has been snowing at CUMC!
Kids of all ages have joined the valiant Knights of North Castle in their quest for the King’s Special Armor. From the comfort of their own castles they have been learning the stories, dancing to the songs, doing the crafts and science projects, and playing the trivia games.
It’s not too late to join in the fun. Videos with some familiar VBC faces, along with our friends from Cokesbury, will be streaming on our church website for you to explore whenever you’d like this month.
Whether you share this with a friend across town, or a cousin across the country, we hope you’ll take up the gauntlet this summer and accept the challenge to “armor up” and “be strong in the Lord” by remaining with God and sharing God’s love in a world that needs it more than ever.
Want more VBC? Throwback Videos from the past decade of Vacation Bible Camp at CUMC are available for viewing here . If you have a favorite music video you’d like to see again, email Karen at .
Take a listen to our latest piece of music online, Mike Maguire’s own composition: Prelude in D minor!

The music program’s next Thursday evening Zoom meeting and fellowship will take place next Thursday, July 16th at 7:30 p.m. Follow the link to join:

The scriptures and prayers that are being shared this week are below:

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1. John 4:8

One of the ancient creeds of the early church was:
Ubi caritas, et amor, Deus ibi est. (Latin)
Wherever there is care, and love, God is right there. (English)
In the light of eternity, we’re here for a very short time, really. We’re here for one thing, ultimately: to learn how to love, because God is love. Love is our origin, love is our ground, and love is our destiny. —James Finley, Teacher and wisdom figure at the Living School at the Center for Action and Contemplation.

Here are two different videos of this creed set to music:
O God, we love you. Help us to love you more.
O God, we trust you. Help us to trust you more. Amen.
James Finley reflections on breathing in
I Love You from God.
Breathing out I Love you to God.
