FROM THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE!
NEW FAMILY AMBASSADOR INTEREST FORM!
Do you remember being new to MCS? Do you have a heart for hospitality? The Admissions Department is looking to build a team of parents that would like to help welcome our new families over the summer. We are looking for two to three boy and girl families from each grade to host two playdates over the summer, and help support our Parent Orientation Dinner and Elementary Field Day in late August. If this feels like something you would like to be part of, or would just like more information, please complete the interest form here, and we will connect with you within the next week.
6TH GRADE ORIENTATION FOR
CURRENT 5TH GRADE FAMILIES!
6th Grade Parent Orientation
We are excited to have the fifth grade parents visit with the middle school administrators for a 6th Grade Parent Orientation in-person. We will gather together in the Center for Worship on Friday, May 21st at 8:30-9:30 am. During this time parents will be able to meet teachers, understand the sixth grade courses, receive a list of electives, learn of all extra-curricular activities, and much more. Masks are mandatory to attend the event and we are grateful for your partnership.

Incoming 6th Grade Student Orientation
The 5th grade teachers, the middle school administrators, and the 6th grade teachers will meet with the incoming 6th grade class on Friday, May 21st during their Specialist Block at 11:15 am in the Center for Worship. This time will provide an overview for the students of what to expect next year. It will complete with a tour guided by our Middle School ASB.
CHAPEL RECAP!
Our Fourth Grade Music students led our elementary chapels with the worship song, “Sparrows” by Cory Asbury. The lyrics of this song are based on the words of Jesus found in Matthew 6 about the care that God has for us above other created things. Because we are valuable to God, He desires us to draw near to Him in relationship through prayer and Bible reading. Using a video about a little lamb that wanted attention from his “shepherd,” the students were encouraged to develop habits to “scoot closer” to God through prayer and Bible reading. Matthew 7:7 says that we should “ask, seek, and knock” as we pursue God. Ask your child about the persistent little lamb!
2ND GRADE MARINERS MARKET 2021!
Today our second grade students participated in our Mariners Marketplace. Each student created a business to provide a good or a service to our MCS community. This engaging project introduces students to economic principles and open market concepts. This time honored tradition was appreciated by all of our staff and students.
MAY SHARE2WEAR!
TUESDAY, MAY 18!
Next week is our final Share2Wear of the school year, so we saved this share item that is the favorite one for Project Giving Light students for last... GIFT CARDS!!! This year our students have made such an impact with the items they have provided for the PGL birthday boxes, that have blessed an abundance of kids on their birthdays! For many of these kids, it’s the only birthday gift they will receive, so PGL does an amazing job compiling normal life necessities along with fun gifts for each age level. But like all kids, the thing that is the most exhilarating for them to receive is a GIFT CARD. So for our last share item, students will provide a $5-10 gift card on Tuesday, 5/18 for our “share” day. The favorite gift cards of choice include Starbucks, Amazon, Target, or fast food restaurants.

Students have already been asking if they can provide more than one gift card, and YES!!! The more students we can bless the better. For equity sake, if your family would like to generously give above and beyond, we prefer multiple gift cards of $5-10 rather than a gift card containing a larger dollar amount.

If your family does not have time to get a gift card, please feel free to give a cash amount (minimum $5), and we will purchase the gift card for you.

When students “share” on Tuesday, on Wednesday, 5/19 they get to “wear” FREE DRESS attire! All school dress code guidelines apply, including no sweats or pajamas, no tank tops, and no ripped or frayed jeans. See our Schoology Latest and Greatest page for the dress code guidelines.
