NEW MCS BOARD CANDIDATES!
Dear MCS Families:

We’re pleased to present Michelle Vail and Chase Emery to you as candidates to serve on the Mariners Christian School Board of Trustees. The purpose of the MCS Board is to secure the school's fiscal health, appoint and evaluate the Head of School, and ensure the school fulfills its stated mission of Building a firm foundation through Christ-centered education. More information regarding the Board is available on our website in the "About MCS" section.

We believe that Michelle and Chase will bring a wealth of experience and discernment to the Board that will help us fulfill our duties with faithfulness and excellence. However, before any candidate is approved for the Board, it’s our practice to send a notice to the MCS Community to determine if there are any opinions relative to either candidate's suitability.

Please contact us on or before May 7, 2021 at [email protected] if you have any feedback.

Sincerely,

MCS CELEBRATES NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
AND THANKFUL THURSDAY!
During Monday’s chapel students were able to write and draw prayers about their own sin that keeps causing them to stumble. On Thursday each student read over Psalm 103:12 and sent their paper airplane prayers away from them to symbolize God’s goodness and the gift of prayer.
CHAPEL RECAP!
Have you ever thought about yourself as a sheep in God’s eyes? Using a current popular Youtube video, Mrs. Drevlow illustrated Romans 7:14-25 which talks about our human tendency to repeat sinful behaviors, even when we really know better. She challenged us to think about what our “ditch” of sin is, and how God has made a way through Jesus to remove that from us. Mr. Lucas led, as all the students worshipped through song and with chopsticks.

Psalm 100 reminds us that we are “the sheep of His pasture” and Jesus comes to rescue us when we wander. When you come to Open House, have your child show you what we have displayed from this chapel time!
8TH GRADE WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP!
Thank you to everyone who was covering our 8th Grade Washington DC Trip in prayer! God heard and answered every prayer for health, safety, divine appointments, and memorable experiences, and we saw Him move mightily throughout this trip. We are so grateful that God opened the door for our 8th graders to continue this time-honored tradition, and that our students embraced every opportunity to reflect His light and His love to those we came into contact with. This was a trip that is worthy to be celebrated!
TERRA NOVA TESTING!
TUESDAY, MAY 11TH AND THURSDAY, MAY 13TH!
Save the date! All middle school students will participate in Terra Nova testing on Tuesday, May 11th and Thursday, May 13th. Please avoid scheduling appointments or trips during testing if at all possible. Over the course of the two days, students will complete grade level assessments in English and Math. Testing will occur first thing in the morning, so it is important that all students arrive to school on time. Make-up testing will occur on Friday and Monday following testing.

We want all of our students to do their best on the tests and we encourage good sleep, a good breakfast, and a commitment to success!
EVENING OF HONOR FRIDAY, MAY 28!
