  • Linnet Early-Husi - The importance of the stability and support that Emmanuel provides to its parishioners as a second home

How do I pledge?

Starting this Sunday, Oct 18, Physical pledge cards will be available in every pew as well as in the narthex. Please fill out these pledge cards and either place them in the collection plate or return it to the office (in person or by mail). If you are not able to make it to church please contact the office and we can mail you one.

You can also fill out an online pledge card, found here, or by scanning the QR code to the right.

At our Stewardship Ingathering Sunday, November 15, we will ask everyone to bring their card to the altar to be blessed. We will have all cards already turn in at the altar ready to be blessed.

How Do I Contribute to My Pledge?

Contributing to your pledge is just like making a donation to any non-profiled fund at Emmanuel! We accept cash, checks, and credit card or ACH contributions.

  • Cash: Place your contribution in an envelope marked “2027 Pledge” and include your name.
  • Check: Make your check payable to Emmanuel Episcopal Church and write “2027 Pledge” in the memo line.
  • Credit Card/ACH: You can make a one-time gift or schedule recurring contributions throughout the year through our online giving portal.

A quick reminder for online giving: When setting up your pledge, be sure to select both a start date and an end date so your contributions don’t continue beyond 2027. For a full-year pledge, use January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027.

If you already have a recurring pledge scheduled without an end date, please end that schedule before setting up a new one. Contact Elliot with any questions or concerns.

THIS WEEK AT EEC

Fall Cleanup Day - Nov 15

Please join us for our Annual Fall Cleanup Day on Saturday, November 15, starting at 9:00 AM. All ages are welcome!

We will be raking leaves, pruning dead limbs, weeding, and taking care of other seasonal cleanup tasks. If you have them, please bring gloves, leaf rakes, leaf blowers, pruning shears, and pruning saws.

Donuts will be provided!

Firewood for the Elders

Firewood for the Elders is a program of Rosebud Episcopal Mission in South Dakota. Firewood for the Elders provides funds for propane bills and firewood, enough to carry a family over until other resources can be found. Emmanuel has supported Rosebud Mission and the Lakota people for 20+ years through donations and mission trips.

Donations can be made online, found here. Physical donations can be made at the Community Thanksgiving Service. See the below flyer for more details.

Upcoming Website Changes

We will be moving our website to a new hosting platform beginning in December. There will be no changes to how you access or interact with our website.

The new platform will provide the office with better tools to improve our website at a lower cost than our current hosting service.

The only action required from you will be to create a new website account. Instructions for setting up your account will be provided in future newsletters.

Puerto Rico Bound

Calling all families with current 6th through 12th graders AND any former youth group member that may have missed out on previous mission trips due to the pandemic! Please check your email for an interest survey about our youth group trip to Puerto Rico. We are asking families to fill it out one way or another just so we can gauge how many youth are interested in attending. Please respond by Nov 14!

There will be an informational meeting in January.

FROM LAST WEEK

Emmanuel Episcopal Cook Book

The new and improved Emmanuel Episcopal cookbook is here! Thank you to Margaret Blistain, Pam Penrose, and everyone who submitted a recipe for the book.

The cookbook is available for purchase for $20. Margaret will be selling the books after the 8:00 AM service outside the sanctuary and after the 9:30 AM service in the Parish Hall. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the food center.

Come and get your cookbook and start cooking like a Emmanuelite!

If you would like to purchase a book via CC or ACH, please use this link. Email Margaret or Elliot to setup a time to pick up your book after you have paid.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Winter Clothing Drive for the International Student

Please donate gently used clothing for our international student population. Many of them do not have the resources to purchase winter clothing and come from countries where they are not used to the cold. Donations will be accepted from Halloween (Oct 31) to Thanksgiving (Nov 26). Please place all donations in the blue bins found in the parish hall and Narthex.

Here are some suggestion of items to donation:

  • Hats, scarves, gloves and mittens
  • New warm socks
  • Sweaters, hoodies and sweatshirts
  • Thermal wear and warm pajamas
  • Winter boots and shoes
  • Blankets and sleeping bags

FOOD CENTER

Food Center Amazon Wishlist

Please consider checking out the Food Center’s Amazon Wishlist if you’re interested in donating essential items and extra treats!

The Wishlist includes many items that are difficult for the Food Center to afford through its regular budget but are in high demand among our clients. Essentials like tampons, razors, and body wash can make a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives.

You can find the Wishlist here!

CHRISTIAN FORMATION

Emmanuel Memorial Garden Update

Most of you have walked by the Memorial Garden and maybe you've wondered about it and have questions. Or maybe you didn't realize it is a sacred burial space. Earlier this year, a memorial garden committee was formed to consider expansion options, landscape design upgrades needed, maintenance needed and policy review. Members of the memorial garden committee will provide an update on their work this year at Christian formation.
