  • it is estimated that volunteers added over two billion hours to Canada’s work effort in 2017.

  • Canada’s volunteer contribution was valued at $55.9 billion in 2017—equivalent to 2.6 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The PCD Volunteer Recognition Program recognizes the importance and value that volunteers provide in the areas of sport, culture and recreation.

Nominate a deserving volunteer today ! Nominations will be adjudicated based on set criteria. One award recipient per nomination due date will be selected to receive recognition at a locally planned community event and a $1000 grant to be used in their community to fund sport, culture and/or recreation initiatives.  Next nomination due date is April 15th.

Physical Literacy Pilot
Saskatchewan in motion and the  Partners for Physical Literacy  are working with three Prairie Central District communities - Martensville , Outlook , & Wynyard to develop a specific plan for getting kids moving more and increasing physical literacy at home, at school and in the community. Physical literacy is the confidence, competence and motivation to move and one of the keys to a lifelong love of physical activity. Do you know athletes aged 14 to 25 with speed, power, strength and endurance?   #RBCTrainingGround might be for them. Saturday, April 27, 2019 - 9:00am at Regina Fieldhouse. FREE Registration.  REGISTER NOW Walk-ins are also welcome. At RBC Training Ground, athletes participate in field-based tests that highlight their ability in speed, strength and power. Logo Design Contest for Students
The Office of the Treaty Commissioner is looking for a new logo! The Logo Design Contest is for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Artwork needs to be submitted with a written piece outlining their drawing and what the significance of their artwork is in relation to Treaties. The contest closes June 30. Infrastructure Projects
In October 2018, Canada and Saskatchewan signed the bilateral agreement for the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).   The Government of Saskatchewan recently announced a two-stage intake process for infrastructure projects from eligible recipients under the ICIP. This process begins with an Expression of Interest (EOI). Applicants can now submit an EOI for projects that would start in the next five years. The deadline to submit an EOI is April 30, 2019.
