Message from Superintendent Dyer
For nearly 15 years, it has been a distinct honor and a pleasure to serve the Dallastown Area School District--first as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and, for the past 7 years, as Superintendent. We've had a very productive nearly 15 years working collaboratively.
At last week's meeting, I asked the Dallastown Area Board of School Directors to consider releasing me from my Contract so that I can retire December 31, 2019, which will be earlier than my June 30, 2020, contract end date. They approved my request. Consequently, I will work toward a smooth transition, and will proudly turn over the leadership of the district to the successor named by the Board of School Directors.
With a 15-month grandson and another grandson due in early June, I am looking forward to being "Pap-paw"!
Please know that I will continue to give the District my full attention until that date and will strongly support our many fine initiatives.
Ronald E. Dyer, Ed.D. Superintendent

It's PSSA Time
All students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 will take the English Language Arts and Mathematics Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) beginning Monday, April 15th, through Friday, May 3rd. Additionally, the PSSA Science assessment will be administered to students in grades 4 and 8 during this same time frame.
During PSSA testing, each school has established its testing window and communicates those dates to students, parents, and guardians through school newsletters, parent letters, and each school's web page.
Just as parents help their child(ren) prepare for every school day, please help your child(ren) prepare for these assessments by encouraging them to get plenty of sleep the night before and providing them with a good breakfast on the mornings of the assessments. Results will be shared with parents when released by the state.
