It'll Be a Graveyard Smash!
A MOTHER-SON MONSTER BASH
   
Whether it's called a Transylvania Twist or a Monster Bash, don't worry, you'll catch on in a flash. Dallastown Area School District boys in Kindergarten through Grade 6 and their moms/guardians are invited to attend the Dallastown Area Educational Foundation's 3rd Annual Mother-Son Monster Bash Halloween Party! Costumes are welcome, but not required.

When:   Saturday, October 20th
Time:     6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where:  Dallastown Area Intermediate School
What:    Music, treats (including snacks, candy, and beverages),   
             bounce houses, games, raffles, photo wall, Ghost Walk,
             Haunted Bus, and Gaga Pit!
Cost:     $30 at the door
             $5 for each additional child in grades Kindergarten through
             Grade 6
 
Come join us for some spooktacular fun, and tell them Boris sent you!
All proceeds to benefit the Dallastown Area Educational Foundation.

A Midsummer Night's Dream
 
"The course of true love never did run smooth," and neither does the course of events in the Dallastown Area High School Performing Arts Club's fall production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
 
Held in the Dallastown Area High School auditorium, show dates and times are Thursday, October 25th, at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 26th, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27th, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 28th, at 2:00 p.m.

or by calling (717) 244-4021, Extension 3120. Tickets are $10.00 for premium seats, $7.00 for adults, and $5.00 for senior citizens and students who present a valid ID. 

*A silent auction will be held prior to each performance to help offset production costs. Businesses and individuals interested in donating items for the silent auction should contact Bethany Yuninger at
[email protected] prior to October 20th.
Football For Freedom

On Friday, October 26th, the Dallastown Wildcats will host the Red Lion Lions during the 8th Annual Football for Freedom Bowl. Kick-off is 7:00 p.m. on the Dallastown Area High School American Legion Field at Wildcat Stadium. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.; festivities begin at 6:00 p.m.)

Current and former military as well as first responders will be admitted free of charge and are invited to participate on the field in a Tunnel of Valor during pregame team introductions.
Preparing for Life After High School

Dallastown Area School District is pleased to partner with Columbia University Medical Center in an effort to prepare students for transitioning beyond high school. 

Parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend a free informational session entitled, Raising and Launching Emotionally Healthy Youth: How to Prepare Your Children for the Challenges of Life Beyond High School. The event will be held in the Dallastown Area High School auditorium on Monday, November 5th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

History and Outdoors Night
 
The Dallastown Area Middle School History Club will host  History and Outdoors Night on Wednesday, November 7th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a free event for the community.

Held in the middle school cafeteria, students will present projects related to historic events of various topics. Local boy scouts will demonstrate skills and information related to outdoor activities.
Career Pathways

Dallastown Area School District is pleased to share the DASD Career Pathways framework on the district website. It is the district's vision to inspire and create pathways for student success, and to that end this new framework will serve as an effective school stakeholder career advancement tool to support individual student career plans among sixteen diverse pathway options.

National Merit Semi-Finalist and Commended Students  
 
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced Dallastown Area High School seniors Vignya Dontu and Emily White as Semi-Finalists in the 2019 National Merit® Scholarship Program and will continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships.

Commended Students include seniors Samuel F. Betz and Zachary W. Scott. Although they will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Students place among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
