LS Makes Recycling Fun

Loganville-Springfield Elementary recently hosted a recycling assembly provided through a grant of the York County Solid Waste Authority.

Featuring a puppet show cast of characters made out of recycled materials, including Buster the Combustor Dragon made from empty laundry detergent containers, small serving cups for eyes, and orange paper flames coming out of his mouth, students learned that if a product has a number one, two, or five in its recycling triangle, it goes into the recycling bin. Buster made it known that he was not happy when another puppet did not take the time to recycle.

It was an enjoyable and informative assembly for everyone--now be sure to do your part and recycle!
Discovery Kitchen Comes to DE

Dallastown Elementary students and staff were recently introduced to Discovery Kitchen, an exploration of food, recipes, and nutrition.

Chartwells Food Services Chef Kevin Gouldner and Chef Scot Stehman discussed varieties of apples and
everyone had fun eating apple samples.
