Poetry Out Loud

Dallastown Area High School students participated in its 10th Annual School-Wide Poetry Out Loud (POL) competition, providing students an opportunity to interact with poetry in a personal and interpretive way, blending performance art with literacy skills and literary appreciation.

Winners included senior Gabriel Hiestand in third place, junior Aeryn McClain in second place, and sophomore Katie Durgin in first place. Katie will advance to the regional Poetry Out Loud competition at the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg in January. The event is free and open to the public.

Saving Lives

Dallastown Area High School students recently sponsored a blood drive during which 147 donors donated 85 pints of blood, potentially saving 255 lives in our local community. The goal of 100 units of blood was achieved with the support of students, teachers, and staff. For that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
