HS Service Academy Night
TONIGHT

Congressman Lloyd Smucker is hosting Service Academy Night at Dallastown Area High School from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., tonight, Friday, April 26th, for area students interested in attending one of the Service Academies, including the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy. Students will also learn about Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) scholarships.

The program will include presentations from academy liaison officers and ROTC representatives, as well as a detailed explanation of the Congressional nomination process. Service Academies and ROTC programs will have representatives at informational booths to address attendees' individual questions.
Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. in the lobby.
It's PSSA Time

All students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 will take the Mathematics Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) beginning Monday, April 29th, through Friday, May 3rd. Additionally, the PSSA Science assessment will be administered to students in grades 4 and 8 during this same time frame.
During PSSA testing, each school has established its testing window and communicates those dates to students, parents, and guardians through school newsletters, parent letters, and each school's web page.

Just as parents help their child(ren) prepare for every school day, please help your child(ren) prepare for these assessments by encouraging them to get plenty of sleep the night before and providing them with a good breakfast on the mornings of the assessments. Results will be shared with parents when released by the state.
