FIRST Lego League
Three years ago, Dallastown Intermediate School joined the FIRST Lego League. The League engages students in hands-on STEM experiences by learning core values through a team building activity, presenting their project, and in Robot Game. In Robot Game, they code LEGO robots in LEGO Mindstorms to complete various missions.

The CyberCats and TechnoCats recently competed in a local scrimmage to prepare for a regional competition. On January 25, the two teams will travel to Penn State Berks to compete against approximately 70 teams.

The Scientists Among Us

A tradition for 60 years, the Dallastown Area High School Science and Engineering Fair will be held Saturday, January 26, and Sunday, January 27, in the science wing of the high school.
The public is invited to view more than 100 student submissions on Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. An awards ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the high school auditorium.
Dallastown Area High School students have a long history of county awards and opportunities to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair based on their award-winning projects at the school level. We encourage community members to join us--surely you will be impressed with the creative and scientific knowledge that the student projects display.
Sweetheart Dance

Sponsored by the Dallastown Area Educational Foundation, the 5 th Annual DAEF Sweetheart Dance will be held Saturday, February 8, from
6 - 8 p.m. in the Dallastown Intermediate School Cafeteria.  Click here to purchase tickets. 
6th Annual Dallastown Mini-THON  
Dallastown Area High School will host its  6th Annual Mini-THON beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, March 20. This fun-filled event for high school students inspires teamwork, leadership, and creativity while empowering them through philanthropy and service in the fight to conquer childhood cancer.

Students stay standing and active during the 12-hour overnight event to raise money and awareness for the Four Diamonds Cancer Research Foundation.

Flu Season is Here

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) provides information on its website about what to do if you get the flu. Parents, guardians, and children are encouraged to take precautions in everyday activities to prevent getting and spreading the virus.  
Don't hesitate to contact your child's school nurse with questions about an illness or health concern.
What's Your 911? 
Be sure to keep your child's Student Emergency Card up-to-date to ensure timely communication in the event of an emergency. Contact your child's school to request changes to an address, telephone number or emergency contact.
