Israel Trivia Answer
Ha Carmelit is the underground subway and funicular system that serves Haifa. Construction started in 1956 and was completed in 1959. It is the oldest underground subway system in the Middle East and currently the only one in Israel until the opening of the Tel Aviv Light Rail (set to open in 2022). The Carmelit is believed to be the smallest subway system of the world made up of a single line, 6 stations and 1.8 km. long track. “Ha Carmelit” Haifa Limited operates the line.
