The Pandemic Impact on Wellness Visits and Vaccinations for Children and AdolescentsAnchor2
The time for vaccine catch-up is now. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous reports have documented a drop in vaccination and prevention services. All age cohorts have seen a decrease in wellness visits during the pandemic, with the adolescent age cohorts being the most impacted. Summertime is a peak time period for children and adolescents to complete wellness visits and receive their routinely recommended vaccinations before or at the start of the school year. Read more.

Merck Resources on Vaccination Gaps and Reminding Parents About VaccinationsAnchor3
In 2020, the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) strengthened its Hepatitis A catch-up recommendations to help close the vaccination gaps across the United States. Low Hepatitis A completion rates across the United States highlight the importance of vaccinating appropriate patients. To view the data, click here.

For suggestions that health care professionals and practices can consider to help improve their vaccination programs and increase their vaccination rates, please review this checklist provided by Merck.

COVID-19 Vaccination Communication ToolkitAnchor0
The CDC has put together a COVID-19 Vaccination toolkit that is intended to promote vaccine confidence among healthcare providers. Practices can use these materials to educate and build confidence in COVID-19 vaccination, raise awareness about the benefits of vaccination, and address common questions and concerns.
