Cottleville Receives Grant for Improvements at Hansen Park

The City of Cottleville was recently awarded a grant to install restrooms, picnic tables, and a large pavilion at McAuley playground.  A contractor has been selected and construction should begin this fall. This project has been funded by the Land & Water Conservation Fund and the Cottleville Parks & Recreation.
McAuley Playground   is located in Hansen Park behind the Mercy Kids Medical Building on Ohmes Road.  This is an inclusive playground specifically designed to remove physical and social barriers so ALL children with and without disabilities and/or critical illnesses can play side by side with their peers and families.
Contract awarded to
Erect  Amphitheater Stage at  Legacy Park
A contractor has recently been selected to erect The Cottleville Weldon Spring Rotary Amphitheater stage in Legacy Park similar to the one shown in the picture. The "background" work has already been done such as grading, seeding, irrigation and electrical needs at the sodded grass hill which will be used for a seating area.
The CWS Rotary Amphitheater covered stage will be utilized for plays, small music performances, outdoor movies, and many other fun events for local residents and area students. Future plans also include restrooms and a storage area. This project has been funded by the CWS Rotary Club, Cottleville Parks &  Recreation and various other donations! Stay tuned as contractors will be breaking ground late summer or early fall!

MoDOT and the St. Charles County Road Board are still planning to begin constructing an overpass in 2019 on Page/364 at Gutermuth with a tentative completion date in late 2020.  The St. Charles County Road Board has also dedicated funding to straighten and widen Gutermuth Road on to Motherhead Road. In addition, this project currently includes a 8 foot wide multi use trail to be constructed on both sides of Gutermuth Road.
The Public School House Nearing Completion
The one room public  school house under construction in Cottleville at 5546 Chestnut Street is nearing completion. The one room school house had been empty and unoccupied for some time. The schoolhouse was built in circa 1873 and served as a school until the 1950's. It was later renovated into a residential home in the 1970's. The property owner continues his restoration plans bringing the old public school house back to life and plans to operate it as a small event location. For more information regarding this property email  chris@securusnow.com .
Sidewalk Replacement

A new contractor has been selected through a bid process for side walk improvements in several Cottleville neighborhoods. We have made  sidewalk   replacement   a priority starting first with aged subdivisions. To report   sidewalks   in need of repair, please contact   Rich Francis at:
rich.francis@cityofcottleville.com  or 636-498-6565 ext 202.

Under Construction at
Scott A. Lewis Park
Cottleville parks are growing again!  A contractor has recently been selected to install a new playground at Scott A. Lewis Park. Resident Camera Program

Do you currently utilize video surveillance at your home or business? If you do, the Cottleville Police Department could use your help! The Cottleville Police Department is implementing a voluntary Camera Registration Program. This program will allow residents and business owners to register their address allowing the Cottleville Police to know about locations of nearby video systems. Video surveillance footage is one of the best methods to identify and convict suspects. If a crime was to occur near a registered resident or business owners system, it may have captured the incident. Reviewing the video footage and imagery could possibly provide information leading to an identification and arrest of a suspect. Registering for this program is 100 percent voluntary and does not give the Cottleville Police Department access to your camera system.  If you would like to join our program, please complete the Camera Registration Form. Registrants can always choose to withdraw from the program at any time by calling the Cottleville Police at 636-498-6464.
