New Lower Tax Rate In Cottleville

2019 PROPERTY TAX RATE

The City's 2019 real estate and personal property tax rate has been reduced to .2819, down from .3034 which is among the lowest in St. Charles County.
 
Coming to 5556 Oak Street in Historic Down Town Cottleville

Construction will begin later this year on the Shops at Creekside Cottleville, a 4,400 square foot building offering retail and commercial space at the street level and 6 downtown 2 bedroom apartments above. A lower level basement garage space will also be offered. This will be home to Hero Realty, which currently operates out of the single family style home at this location. Welcome to Cottleville!

Constitution Week Recognized
 at September Board of Aldermen Meeting

WHEREAS: The Constitution of the United States of America, the guardian of our liberties, embodies the principles of limited government in a Republic dedicated to rule by law: and

WHEREAS: September 17, 2018, marks the two hundred thirty first anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and

WHEREAS: It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate it; and

WHEREAS: Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of America designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week,

NOW, THEREFORE:  I, Jim Hennessey, Mayor of Cottleville, on behalf of the Board of Aldermen do hereby proclaim the week of September 17 through 23 as
Constitution Week  and ask our citizens to reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the seal of the City of Cottleville, Missouri in the Mayor's Office this 18th day of September in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Nineteen.

A RESOLUTION 19-06 OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF COTTLEVILLE, MISSOURI RECOGNIZING AND SUPPORTING THE COTTLEVILLE POLICE AND OTHER POLICE DEPARTMENTS, SHERIFF DEPARTMENTS AND RESPONDERS IN THE REGIONAL AREA.   
WHEREAS, law and order in any community must be a collaboration between the citizens of that community, the police and prosecutors they employ; and

WHEREAS, policing in American communities is a stressful, highly technical vocation in which officers know that their every public interaction is subject to being photographed or filmed and subject to public and media scrutiny; and

WHEREAS, the public often draws conclusions regarding an officer's actions without the appropriate awareness of the circumstances of the incident; and

WHEREAS, police officers must have the support of their community and elected leaders to do their job effectively; and

WHEREAS, increases in crime occurring as a result of police disengagement will be stemmed only by a clear message to police that when they do the right thing, they will be supported by the citizen community, police leadership, prosecutors and the elected officials; and

WHEREAS, the City of Cottleville is part of the larger St. Louis
Region; and the Cottleville Board of Aldermen wants to recognize and show support for law enforcement officers throughout the St. Louis Region

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF COTTLEVILLE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.  The Board of Aldermen calls upon the governing bodies and prosecutors of the St. Louis Region to express their support for the police officers who are daily performing their duties in supporting the safe and law abiding citizens of their community. 

PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Cottleville, Missouri this 18th day of September, 2019.

Yuppy Puppy Pet Spa 
The Pet Doctor  Opening 2nd Location in Cottleville
 
The Yuppy Puppy Pet Spa is planning to open a 10,500 square foot 2nd location in Cottleville at 5291 Highway N. Yuppy Puppy Pet Spa is an upscale dog grooming, training and boarding facility.  Adjacent to that will be a 3,950 square foot highly accredited veterinary facility, The Pet Doctor. 
Both will feature farmstead style buildings and hope to begin construction this later this year.

Gutermuth Road  Improvements

MoDOT and the St. Charles County Road Board are still planning to begin constructing an overpass in 2019 on Page/364 at Gutermuth with a tentative completion date in late 2020.  The St. Charles County Road Board has also dedicated funding to straighten and widen Gutermuth Road on to Motherhead Road. In addition, this project currently includes an 8 foot wide multi-use trail to be constructed on both sides of Gutermuth Road.

All yard waste must be placed in a City of Cottleville brown yard waste cart.
The only exception is during the months of October, November and December  when you can set out brown paper yard waste bags filled with 
ONLY LEAVES for curbside collection. 
*A maximum of 20 bags can be placed out at each pickup.  Last day for yard waste is 1/29/2020 and will resume on 3/4/2020.
