Please see Rev. Dave for your finder's treat after the service!

This will be the first Sunday of the month and thus we will resume our new venture of Children’s Church.

UPDATE: We now have an in-person option!

We invite the kids of the parish (up to about fifth grade or so) to join us either on a special Zoom link or in person in Beaudway Hall at 9:15am to work on a fun activity while parents are either in church or at our online service.

If possible, please equip them with paper, crayons (including at least one blue crayon or marker), and age-appropriate scissors.

Click on the graphic above to Join Miss Katherine and Mrs. Kathleen for a Zoom lesson! For those in church, we'll see you in Beaudway Hall!
Christian Formation at Emmanuel

We will be continuing our formation programs this coming Sunday. We will talk about Christian virtues through the dual lenses of Scripture and the Desert Mothers and Fathers from A Spring in the Desert by Frank & Victoria Logue.

These programs will be conducted in-person after the service or over Zoom at approximately 10:15am. Click on the graphic above for full information.
Emmanuel Pipe Organ Project

Our Casavant 3062 is finally complete!

In the photographs we have Jeff Weiler, Thom Whitehead and George (not our George) who are truly masters of their craft. Jeff was kind enough to demonstrate some of the sounds in isolation and in harmony. Still a few minor tweaks to do, but they are extremely happy and proud of the sound and response of the organ.
Jeff said that they "haven’t changed the character of the sound for our sanctuary, but have repaired, restored and refined the sound.” Thom, sitting in the middle of the church, said ‘how much more spectacular the sound would be if we had the Antiphon (the cherry on the cake) fitted on the balcony– it would bring the sound back around to the front of the sanctuary, creating an incredibly rich quality.” (Surround sound?)
We would have to keep fundraising for that if it is authorized, but it is a relatively low extra cost on top of the funds that we have invested so far.

We have rescheduled the Clive Driskell-Smith concert for Saturday, 9/25, but in the meantime we are planning a Show and Tell party for some time in June, where we can hear the organ (with thanks to George), get together and celebrate all that is Emmanuel.

More details will be available as soon as possible. Please let Sue Jasiak know if you would like to be involved in the planning or running of the event.
Thank you again for your generosity and for making this project possible!
We do now owe money to the bank so fundraising and donations are still very much needed.

The Pipe Organ Project has earned a total of $268.96 from Amazon Smile!

Thank you to all who have made these purchases with Friends of Casavant 3062 nominated - literally every penny helps! As we count down to our Organ completion don't forget to use Amazon Smile and add Friends of Casavant 3062 as your chosen charity.

Saint of the Week:
Chad of Lichfield

2 March 672
Chad, Bishop of Lichfield, is perhaps best known for Not being Archbishop of York. He was elected and duly installed, but various persons raised objections, and rather than cause division in the Church he withdrew. (The objection was that some of the bishops who had consecrated him--although not Chad himself--were holdouts who, even after the Synod of Whitby had supposedly settled the question in 663, insisted on preserving Celtic customs on the date of celebrating Easter and similar questions, instead of conforming to the customs of the remainder of Western Christendom.)

He was soon after made Bishop of Lichfield in Mercia. He served there for only two and a half years before his death, but he made a deep impression. In the following decades, many chapels, and many wells, were constructed in Mercia and named for him. (It was an old custom to dig a well where one was needed, and to mark it with one's own name or another's, that thirsty travelers and others might drink and remember the name with gratitude.)
