Calling All Emmanuel HS Seniors!

Time to Apply for a Scholarship Award from the George and Annie Christian Memorial Scholarship Fund

If you or your child will be graduating from high school this year and wish to apply for a scholarship award from the George and Annie Christian Memorial Scholarship Fund, please let Rev. Dave (revdave@eeclg.org) or Marc O'Brien (neirbocram51@gmail.com) know and you will be sent an application by email. The due date for submitting the application is Friday, April 23, 2021.

The fund was established in 1972 by Evelyn and Kickhapoo Johnson in memory of her parents. Evelyn's father was a longtime warden of this church. The scholarships are funded by dividends received on Consolidated Edison stock.

Consideration is given to the candidate's academics, extracurriculars, and their service to our Emmanuel family. Once the award has been announced, we notify the high school's communications department so that the information can be included in the graduation program. The application must be turned in by the due date in order to be considered by the members of the Scholarship Fund Committee.
Emmanuel Pipe Organ Project

Music Notes

Our Casavant 3062 is finally complete.

Did you know…
The Schulmerich English Handbells played during Sunday’s service were purchased for us by an Emmanuel family in the late 1970’s. At the time, the Youth Group, led by John Barr, played the bells from the balcony for the congregation.
Handbells were first developed in England in the 17th century. They were first used to practice church bell change ringing in a way that would avoid disturbing church neighbors. Click on the bells to the left to read a short history of hand bells.

Save the date:
June 6th, 2021 2- 4pm.

We will have a celebratory Pipe Organ Show and Tell party, using our lovely gardens (weather permitting) to socially distance but be together. If you would like to bring something to share or help in any way please contact Sue Jasiak. More details will follow as available. Thank you!

We have rescheduled the Clive Driskell-Smith concert for Saturday, 9/25.

Thank you again for your generosity and for making this project possible!
We do now owe money to the bank so fundraising and donations are still very much needed.

The Pipe Organ Project has earned a total of $268.96 from Amazon Smile!

Thank you to all who have made these purchases with Friends of Casavant 3062 nominated - literally every penny helps! As we count down to our Organ completion don't forget to use Amazon Smile and add Friends of Casavant 3062 as your chosen charity.
