George and Annie Christian Scholarship Fund Awards
Graduating High School Seniors -- it's that time of year again! As you may know, Emmanuel makes at least one monetary award to a graduating high school senior from our parish family through the George and Annie Christian Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund was established in 1972 by Evelyn and Kickhapoo Johnson in memory of her parents. Evelyn's father was a longtime warden of this church. The scholarships are funded by dividends on Consolidated Edison stock held in the Fund.
Scholarship Fund applications will be available on Monday, April 8. Email Marc O'Brien at [email protected] to request an application by email, or pick up a paper copy in the church office.
Once the awards are been announced, the Scholarship Fund committee will notify each recipient's high school's communications department so that the information can be included in the graduation program. The application must be turned in by the due date in order to be considered by the members of the Memorial and Scholarship Committee who administer this fund.
Please note that one section must be filled out by your school principal or college counselor, so please allow sufficient time to obtain that information.
