We have exciting news!
At a called meeting of the Executive Board, Wednesday, November 9, at 11:30 AM at River Bluff Fellowship (2655 E Farm Rd 188, Ozark), the Leadership Council and Director of Missions Search Committee will present a joint recommendation that the association call
Josh Hall
as our next Director of Missions.
In preparation for this meeting, all Executive Board members are encouraged to attend an Open Forum Thursday, October 27, at 2:00 PM at Springhill Baptist Church (7370 North Farm Road 159, Springfield) for an opportunity to learn more about Josh, hear his vision for the association, and ask him questions about his ministry.

Baptist Hill Pool

Every church camp needs a swimming pool. Baptist Hill Assembly is no exception to this rule.

Swimming pools deteriorate. Baptist Hill Assembly’s pool is no exception to this rule.

Renovations require donations from people. You and I are no exception to this rule.

Baptist Hill Assembly needs our help. Groups have met there for decades. Thousands have been helped by the camp’s ministry. Now it is time for us to repay the favor. It’s time to help the camp so it can bless thousands more for decades to come.

The swimming pool at Baptist Hill has needed a redo for years. Fortunately, the concrete shell of the 30 feet by 100 feet pool has been tested and is deemed sound and usable. Also, the shower house is in good shape. Unfortunately, everything else needs help.

Plaster and patchwork are rough and not adhering well to the concrete. The filtration system moves only 40% of the water that needs to be moved to keep the pool’s 110,000 gallons of water clear and safe for swimmers. New lifeguard stands are needed, as are new ladders and steps.

A new ADA lift will assist those who are wheelchair-bound also to enjoy the pool. The camp leaders want to ensure the pool will serve everyone well. Another need is a cover to place over the pool during the off-season to keep leaves and pine needles from getting in the pool. The acidity from these items causes a pitting action in the coating which causes it to deteriorate at a much faster rate.

Baptist Hill has received over $300,000, mostly from personal donations, of the $646,000 needed for this project. You can help by making your tax-deductible gift payable to Greene County Baptist Association. Designate your check to Baptist Hill, and mail it to Greene County Baptist Association, 834 W Battlefield Road, Springfield MO 65807.

Thank you for praying about helping Baptist Hill. God bless you.

Grace,
Dr. John 3:16 Marshall
Interim GCBA DOM
More on Josh Hall:

Josh is currently the pastor of Selmore Baptist Church in Ozark, where he has served since 2003. From 2013-14, Josh went to Indianapolis as a church planter with the North American Mission Board, sent by Second Baptist. Upon his return in 2014, Selmore called him again as their pastor, a testimony to his ministry with that congregation. In addition, Josh has served as the Student Pastor at FBC, Ellington, and as pastor at Fender Chapel in Brighton.
Josh has led his churches in mission efforts and partnerships. He is committed to cooperative work, having served extensively at both the association and state convention levels. His familiarity with Baptist work in Southwest Missouri and beyond will be a great asset to the churches of the GCBA.
You will learn much more about Josh's ministry and have the opportunity to ask him questions at the Open Forum on October 27 in preparation for the vote on November 9. Plan on joining us for this exciting step in the life of our association.
