From the City of Sea Isle City
NOVEMBER 16, 2023

I begin this message by thanking the several hundred people who attended our annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday – and a special “thank you” goes to the many Veterans who were with us that day as well.
In addition to hearing many words of praise for our nation’s veterans and placing wreaths for the men and women who served this nation in uniform, this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony was also highlighted by a special presentation from representatives of the Quilts of Valor Foundation (South Jersey Chapter), who presented a handmade quilt to Jonathan Villada, an Army Airborne veteran, who was deployed twice overseas and is currently in the Army Reserves.

HYDRANT FLUSHING
Regular Maintenance Ensures Reliability
During the months of October and November, the Sea Isle City Water Department will be flushing-out the water distribution system through the fire hydrants and exercising water valves throughout town. If a hydrant is being flushed near your home or business, we encourage you to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers, or other water-using devices during flushing operations. Residents can expect very little disruption in their water service - if any. However, low water pressure and possible water discoloration may occur. In the event of discoloration, simply allow water to run from the tap for a short while until clear. These conditions are not harmful and are usually short term. Semi-annual hydrant flushing is required to ensure that hydrants and the water distribution systems are functioning properly and can provide the proper drinking water quality (thus providing adequate water flow when needed). This is also a requirement of the Water Quality Accountability Act. For additional info, phone 609-263-6000 (ext. 11) or email: dteefyjr@seaislecitynj.us.
